these album has some of the best songs of the brazil music ( and the world music too) Jobim was a superb composer and gal at these moment of his life sing these songs with a strange , soft and nice voice. If you love the brazilian music, the latin music or only the good music these is a excellent moment for met the nice music of brazil

I fell in love with Brazilian music about four years ago. Since that time, I have purchased about 50 CDs of Brazilian music. "Canta Jobim" is my favorite, by far. When I first heard this CD, I was so in love with it, I could hardly listen to anything else for months, and I am not normally an obsessive person. I bought the DVD of this concert even before I had a DVD player! More than two years later, I still listen to it regularly and I have shared it with people I care about. I adore Gal Costa and have several other of her CDs, which I enjoy, but this is the best. I also have many other CDs of Jobim music, and this is the best. This features a superb singer at her peak, accompanied by a competent group of musicians, performing superlative material. If you love Brazilian music, this CD will not disappoint. In fact, you will fall in love...

Although she has had some so-so recordings, here Gal Costa is as good as she can be and has ever been. A must for Jobim lovers too. Not even Tom (Antonio Carlos) can do his owns songs better than Gal. BRAVO and "obrigado" Gal.

For lovers of the bossa nova, this Brazilian singer is the BEST! Brazil's answer to Peggy Lee, Costa sings all the great hits of Tom Jobim, including "The Girl from Ipanema." Her smooth, sexy voice and the swinging bossa nova tempo make this one a definite winner. She performed many of the songs on this CD live in a recent concert on Ipanema Beach and the crowd went wild. Every citizen of Rio knows the words to all her songs!

I received this set of CD's from a co-worker who works at our Brazil location. It was some of the best music I have ever heard. I put it in my computer at work, and I thought it was fabulous. Anytime I want to relax with my boyfriend, and light a few candles, and enjoy some wine, this is a must have CD. She is wonderful. I have told many people about this CD and plan to order one for a friend for Christmas.

Thoroughly professional, period. Brasil's Gershwin nicely done by a class act. Arrangements aren't always super, maybe lacking a tad of creativity, but, all-in-all, an absolute must to any collection! I'd give it 4.85 stars.

Gal Costa has a crystal clear voice, period.
The arrangements are impeccable as well as the execution.
the repertoire is well known, but still, you cannot get tires of listening to it.

My friend Gaby a professional pianist from Argentina brought the CDs of this album to Malaysia during his visit last June, and I just loved it!! I have been trying to track this CD collection in Malaysia but unfortunately it has to be back-ordered!! :(

Desafinado and Frevo is simply marvellous, and The Girl from Ipanema comes with 2 languages!*wink* i got to learn some Portugese here and appreciating Gal's singing and Jobim's great work :)
