About the Author

Patti Coons is theauthor of GALA! THE SPECIAL EVENT PLANNER FOR PROFESSIONALS AND VOLUNTEERS (Capital Books, 1999). She has raised millions of dollars for groups such as the Slavation Army, the American Heart Association, and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Opera Company, and Museum of Art. In fact, she produly credits much of her success as a public relations professional to her more than twenty years as a volunteer on numerous philanthropic boards and fundraising committees. Ms. Coons lives inthe Washington, D.C. area.
