I bought the book for the Alistair Reynolds story in the collection. I, however, enjoyed every other story in the collection and will be reading more from the other authors. It's a can't miss SF collection.

Easy and quick to read. Nothing groundbreaking in ideas but the stories are well written with good pacing. I bought the book initially for Alastair Reynolds' short story but found it one of the weaker entries in the book. Gardner Dozois does a good job of building the compilation with complimentary stories. I've since purchased another one of his compilations and am so far pleased with it.
