4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
Best. Science Fiction book. Ever. This book is extremely creepy, yet extremely hard to put down. Watch out, everybody. This story has more twists turns than a Harry Potter book, and the ending is the most shocking of them all. Read this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars I think that it was pathetic and uninteresting.
The book was very slow to start and it didn't get much better later on. It was very hard to undrestand, especially when they used the patwa talk. I think that is what made it uninteresting. Not much immagination has gone into the set-up of the galaxarena and the things on the "spaceship". Gillian Rubinstein could have tried to make it more appealing to...

4.0 out of 5 stars A good introduction for Science-Ficition, July 3, 2004
By
For any young readers who don't have an idea of Science-Ficitoin novels, you should start by reading this astonishing book. It's will suck you in the science-ficition and fantasy realm. If you have any chance in reading the book, just grab it and read the first three chapters and after that, you won't be able to put the book back to it's place. Enjoy...

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyday Conspiracies, January 14, 2001

Galax-Arena is definitely one of the most riveting and intriguing storys I have ever read. Usually I don't like science fiction novels, but this one glued my eyeballs to it and wouldn't let me go until I finished. The surprise ending is especially interesting, and the whole story is unpredictable. Every chapter has something unexpected, but the book in whole is just creepy and eerie, and when I was done I itched for another one. BOTTOM LINE: Galax-Arena is the fresh new tale that the redundant book industry needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic book you can't put down!, January 3, 2001
In this intruiging book of the future, Joella, her sister Liane, and her brother Peter are kidnapped, put on a rocket, and taken to a planet named Vexak! Here they are to perform death-defying stunts to entertain alian creatures called Vexa, who enjoy the fear and especially death of children. Along with other children, called the peb, Joella and her siblings are trained as risk-taking performers. But unlike her talented sister and brother, Joella is not an acrobat and is sent off to be a pet for a Vexa. There Joella starts to piece together the mystery of these strange events. This is my absolute favorite book and it is a definite page turner that you will treasure forever!

5.0 out of 5 stars Galax-Arena, April 2, 2000

This is a book about Joella, her sister Liaine, and her brother Peter. They are kidnaped from Earth to preform for the alien race, the Vexa. There they find twenty other children who call themselves the "peb". They are forced to preform death defying gymnastic stunts for the Vexa who thrive off of their fear and espically their death. But Joella is no Gymnast and is sent to be a pet for one of the Vexa. There she discovers the terrible truth about the Vexa. I liked the way that Ms. Rubinstein explained the emotioans and the thoughts of the characters. The only thing that was a bit hard to follow was the language the Peb spoke. Other than that I thought it was a marvolus book and would recomend it to anyone who likes Si-fi or action.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Galax-Arena (Library Binding)
Gilligan Rubenstein is an amazing writer. It's been quite come time since I've read "Galax-Arena", but I can still recall a whole lot of details, just because the writing was so well done. The plot and ending was really great (but I won't reveal it ^_~). I would definitely reccomend this book to other readers!

4.0 out of 5 stars Ryan's Review, June 5, 2002

I liked this book because it keeps you guessing until the last minute. Not only this but practially the whole book is full of suspence. I think this is the book to buy if you are into science fiction and to get left hanging. The only reason i didn't like this story was because of the ending but you are going to have to find out what happens on your own.
