About the Author

Laura Winter's first novel, "Growing Wings" was one of the finalists for the Mythopeic Award for best children's fantasy and runner-up for best children's fiction from the society of Midland Authors. She's also won awards for short fiction (a World Fantasy Award for best novella for "Sky Eyes") and poetry. She's sold fiction and poetry to a variety of magazines, including F&SF, Asimov's, Analog, Aboriginal, Tales of the Unanticipated, and Mythic Delirium. On the other side of the desk, she was the poetry editior for Tales of the Unanticipated for ten years.
