My son has food allergies and he loves the Vegan products. Their cheese slizes actually melt and make great grill cheese. I am not a soy fan but even i like the Vegan Parmesan. I use it to make chicken Parmesan, meatballs, and all the italian favs that need cheese in them. I have even used it to make alfredo. It is a little grainy for alfredo but he still loved the flavor of it! OUr store has stopped carring it i was thrilled to find it on Amazon.

you cant tell it's vegan..but you can because it taste way better than cow or goat cheese..you wont be disappointed!!!!

first, i'm not sure what product the people were reviewing with casein in it...their veggie shreds DO have casein (and what's the point in using a cheese substitute if it has animal products in it?), but this is the VEGAN version, which is CASEIN FREE. (the difference, aside from casein, is the color of the packaging. veggie products have a green background, while the vegan products, shown here, have a purple background.)
that being said, this is a great substitute for parmesan cheese--but it's not identical, so don't purchase it with the expectation that it will taste exactly like the Krafty Cheese Product you're used to sprinkling on your spaghetti. in my opinion, it tastes much better than that. :) i agree with the other reviews that it's a great addition to a vegan pantry, and it adds a great finishing touch to a lot of dishes!

Different versions...
Galaxy Foods products are tricky- a few are vegan but most seem to have casein. The "Go Veggie" product pictured is NOT vegan- the vegan parmesan is named "Vegan. Read more

Tasty Substitute
I'm lactose intolerant and this is a very tasty Parmesan cheese substitute. Texture and taste pretty well match the real thing as closely as you can get.

tiny container
Bought this vegan cheese for 14.99, and then saw it in my local health food store for half the price! It is not the sellers fault, but it doesn't really taste good either.
