People that thought the horrible review was helpful, don't understand. Shellac is used in tack cloths. Some tack cloths are lightly saturated. I prefer heavy saturation as they last longer. Wear latex or nitrile gloves as any good tack cloth is sticky. The horrible reviewer doesn't know it but shellac is compatible with any paint or topcoat. Most primers are shellac...

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible tack clothes. Smelly and leave residue!
I have an ongoing project of finishing 27 doors in my home. I have bought tack clothes from home depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, and True value during the last few months. All were satisfactory, EXCEPT for these in the Red box bought from Amazon. They smell like they are saturated with mineral spirits, aka paint thinner. They leave so much oily residue on your hands that...

They leave so much oily residue on your hands that you create finger prints good enough for CSI to use on your sanded woodwork! If anyone wants my remainder of my box of Galaxy clothes, you are welcome to them. DO NOT BUY THEM. They claim they are "compatible" with urethane paints. I suspect they are not compatible with any paints that are not oil based. All the other tack clothes I have used recently have a tacky-waxy feel and don't smell and work better.

I'm back to buy another couple of boxes and they're still the same price as they were a few years ago. Great product.

Being a professional woodworker, these work great.
They are very sticky making them pick up lots of dust and debris.
They last a long time and can be used several times.
