Product Description

Serious gun carriers who need deep concealment and prefer an ankle holster almost universally praise Galco’s Ankle Glove. Those who need concealment 80 hours a week, year in and year out, find the Ankle Glove so comfortable to wear that they forget it’s there – until they need it. The Ankle Glove’s wide neoprene ankle band and Velcro closure offer extended wearing comfort and unmatched security. Additional comfort is provided by sheepskin padding between the holster and ankle. It also features a reinforced thumb break for speed of draw and detailed molding for firearm retention. The Ankle Glove may be worn with or without the optional adjustable calf strap (sold separately). Constructed of premium saddle leather stitched to a neoprene band, the Ankle Glove accommodates ankles up to 13" in circumference. Made for semiautomatic pistols and double-action revolvers, the Ankle Glove is available in right or left hand draw in black finish. Ankle Gloves for small revolvers: Models AG158/AG159 are an open top design, meaning they do not have a safety strap and thumbreak. Instead, they have a tension unit, and work with both hammered and hammerless guns. Models AG160/AG161 have a retention strap (thumb break) that runs behind the grip frame (not behind the hammer). They work with both hammered and hammerless guns, but some guns with factory supplied custom or oversized rubber grips will not fit because the retention strap is not long enough to wrap around them. Works best with slim wood or "boot" grips.

I wanted to ankle carry a J frame but had heard a lot of horror stories regarding ankle holsters. Normally carry an auto-loader IWB but there are times where it isn't feasible. After a lot of checking other people's opinions on various forums I decided to get a Galco Ankle glove. I admit I am pretty impressed with it as the construction is top-notch, it holds my J frame Centennial wonderfully, and is actually very comfortable to wear even for extended periods. It stays where it should when I have a sock under it (slips when on bare skin, I imagine that's due to the padding) but would not trust it running or climbing something like a ladder. I also picked up the Galco Ankle Glove Calf Strap (Black, Ambi) which greatly increases stability and confidence to run/jump/climb etc. Highly recommend both.

This is the best ankle holster I have used in my 16 years in law enforcement! I carry a Smith & Wesson 642 Airweight as my back up weapon and at times I forget I have it on. This holster is very comfortable and it stays put on your ankle.

I have carried this holster almost everyday for 14 years. I've replaced the velcro once because it was worn out from the everyday on and off. Great holster, very comfortable and secure. I am now beginning to think it may be time to replace because the material is showing wear and tear. But after 14 years, I'd say that is pretty good!

For concealed carry, I tried waist holsters and a wrap first but was unsatisfied so I decided to try an ankle holster. This holster has held up well for over a year, keeps my revolver secure, and even allows my revolver to stay relatively dry on hot sweaty days. This is my preferred method of carry for a very lightweight gun (under 18 ounces). A Ruger SP101 would feel too heavy on my ankle; however a Ruger LCR, S&W Airweight, etc is about right.

This holster was purchased for a S$W 442. The 442 fits tightly into this holster, so much so that I can turn the holstered weapon upside town, robustly shake the holster without the 442 budging. If you have a very large ankle and calf, you may want to consider purchasing the extension closure which will provide you with a tighter holster attachment to your ankle.

Nicely made with good comfort. I would not recommend wearing without a sock under it. One day I tried to wear under my jeans with a shorty sock and tennis shoes. By the end of the day it was driving me nuts. With a sock you can wear all day and forget it's even there.

I wish it would stay in place a little better. No matter how tight I try to strap it down it will slide down over the course of the day. That is a minor issue overall but the only thing that kept me from going 5 starts. The extra calf strap they advertise may help and I have thought about getting it as well.

Great item. No straps to contend with when holstering and drawing. They used a retention screw that works well. I haven't had any problems with the gun working its way out of the holster at any time. Very comfortable for all day wear, every day. This is by no means the ideal carry for a quick gun draw. You can practice at it, and become smoother, but you still wouldn't want to have to drop to your knee to retrieve a weapon it the threat is in your face. It works great as a backup or as a daily carry when you really doubt that you would ever need it. That is the way that i use it and if i am going somewhere outside of my small town i will add a .45 in an inside the waistband holster. The only negative about this holster is they need to extend the soft wool material up so that the butt of the weapon doesn't rub a blister on the side of your calf. It's not as big of a problem as the anklelite that i have for my .380, but that is mainly because of the difference in the roughness of the gun butt. I cut off the top of an old wool hunting sock to wear between me and the gun butt, but they need to fix this to make this the perfect ankle holster.

Great Holster, only down side I have is there is not much cushion so after a while it starts to hurt on ankle. Other than that it's great...
