This review is from: Galco CCP Concealed Carry Paddle for Sig-Sauer P229, P228 (Sports)
I realize that it's a desirable feature not to have the holster come off when you draw your gun, but this model takes the concept one step too far. The retention tooth on the paddle (it's adjustable with a screw) is so aggressive, the holster won't come off your waistband unless you remove your belt and unbuckle your pants! If holsters falling off your waistband have been a problem for you, then this is the model you want!
This holster is also adjustable (with a different screw) as the cant, or angle, at which it sits. You can even adjust it for horizontal carry when you're driving. However, there is no retention strap, so if you stand up like that, your gun will likely fall out. It would have been nice to see this adjustment screw be spring-loaded. That way, the cant could be adjusted without tools. And it would have been nice to see the retention tooth set on a levered tab so it could be released a bit more easily. But otherwise, the holster is fine. |
