Beautiful Clock, but eats batteries for breakfast!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gale Bookcase 16 1/4" High Bulova Mantel Clock (Kitchen)
I got this as a wedding gift for a friend. It's a beautiful clock. What does not appear well in the pictures is that the back plate of glass is a darker smoke color.Every time I go to his house it has the wrong time! He says it eats batteries for breakfast. The movement takes too much energy to power. If I remember correctly, it uses only one AA battery, but needs a C or D cell to make it a full year. Form over function...Frank Lloyd Wright would not be pleased. My friend is thinking about going to radio shack and getting a D battery terminal and wiring leads through the back to the internal battery terminals for added oomph. I'm a bit disappointed.
