Gr 9 Up-Although much of the information included in this set is quite technical, most of it will be of interest to students for personal or academic use. Covering topics from "Abdominal ultrasound" to "Yoga," the articles are clearly written and well organized, and present concepts in an easily understood style. Where appropriate, entries include a definition, description, causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention. Source notes, black-and-white photos and illustrations, and boxes that contain definitions for terms used in the text are also included. The "see" references make the encyclopedia useful for readers who might not know correct medical terminology. Even the more sophisticated topics, like specific blood tests and diagnostic procedures, are explained in layman's terms without being oversimplified. A helpful resource for studying the human body or current developments in medical technology.-Christine A. Moesch, Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, NY
