I would have really liked these but they were just a bit too far out of collimation for me to be happy. I returned them to Amazon.
I got these because I wanted something a bit more powerful, and I had previously bought Galileo's C-8x24-50, which I love more and more as they are bright and clear, and what I'm starting to realize is in super collimation, and also a great buy thru Amazon/Prime. I use them for amateur wildlife viewing and amateur astronomy. For astronomy at high zoom, the image is a bit shaky without some form of steadyment, but that's not the binoculars fault. I guess it's just hit or miss as to whether you get a good set or not?? Too bad. If I were to get a pair of these 104060's in good collimation, they'd be a great binocular that I would be very happy with. Collimation is a apparently big problem with binoculars. Over the years having different sets, I used to think it was just me but now I know the difference a well calibrated set makes from my 82450. (It's also too bad there is no user collimation adjustment on these things.) I tried Barska's 20x100-70 but they were in way worse collimation, basically not even looking at the same thing with each half! I don't think I'd like the Barska even in good collimation as the image seemed smaller and dimmer than the Galileo even at low zoom.

I've owned a variety of binoculars including several zoom models, and these were by far the worst. The set I got could not focus clearly on either eye even at minimum zoom, and just plain horrible when zoomed even 20x. I'm not talking about stability without a tripod, that's an issue with any zoom. Mount these in cement block and they couldn't get clear focus at a modest zoom level, at least the pair I got. So, I've returned them, the first time ever for me in countless Amazon orders over the years.
