5.0 out of 5 stars Fine Modern Music From A Traditional Makom Master, May 13, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Galing Galing (Audio CD)
A phenomenal first album by a woman of extraordinary talent. With a background in ancient Makom singing, she blends western and eastern music styles, old and new, in a refreshing new pop sound. (She's a master of over 500 Makom songs. I'd love to have a disc of her favorites. One is on this disc.)

Mokhira is the New Star in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. I listened to this album while flying from Singapore to Frankfurt in a A340 from Lufthansa. They have a program called "World Music" and this album was featured. It is a fresh, new sound, a combination between Eastern sounds and instruments and Western music. Very well combined. The catalogue that comes with this CD shows much more examples of World Music, worth listening to. january 2000

5.0 out of 5 stars Tash Gibi KIZ (A girl as Strong as a Rock), January 25, 2000
This review is from: Galing Galing (Audio CD)
Very well oriented music, even the music arranged on the cd is specific, the music and the words takes you into a deep and wonderfull world that you think that you are somewhat inside the album, I am from turkey and specifically because I do not understand some of the words "which all are in my native language" the cd gives me somewhat a very wonderful joy while listening, I am really pleased to have this cd, try the remix on track 5 its wonderful. Thank you mokhira. PS: I first heared this track on a Lufthansa Flight to LA from Frankfurt and believe it or not I had to go and ask the pilot on who is singing this song, and then one of the stewerts specifically searched for the song with me by listening and then from a list that he had on their entertaintment program on the plane they found out her name, which I immediatly ordered from amazon because thats the only place I found this cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars a Woman Like Tash, February 22, 2000
This review is from: Galing Galing (Audio CD)
A woman like tash means a woman as strong as a stone, A very well oriented and very well designed music, I listened to this music especially galing galing during my flight from Frankfurt to LA, I liked the album very much especially because it is entirely in my native language, Music is well designed and the songs capture my hearts beat in every song, believe it or not on the way back I listened to he same music and requested the stewerdes to tell me what the name of the album was and the minute I arrived home I accessed the internet and browsed for it in Amazon.com and unsurprizengly I found it and ordered it, I am saying unsurprizingly because I do not remember requesting any thing from amazon and not finding it.
