Nice Collection Of Elizabethan Era Keyboard Music,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Galliards, Pavans and Other Keyboard Works: Selections from the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book (Dover Music for Piano) (Paperback)
I've been a full time private piano teacher since graduating from music school in 1981 and I've gathered quite a large library of music in all those years. One era of interest to me that was sorely missing was a collection of Elizabethan era keyboard music. This edition fit the bill nicely. It has a wide range of compositions from that era with works by composers such as William Byrd, John Dowland and many others (and of course the ever present "anonymous" :)).
The edition is nicely bound, easy to read and a great value as well. Dover tends to do a nice job making affordable and handsome editions. Highly Recommended! |
