Product Description

99.99% Pure Gallium Metal in 15 gram quantity. Used widely in the semiconductor industry, this metal is fun to experiment with and is non-toxic unlike Mercury. A soft silvery metallic poor metal, elemental gallium is a brittle solid at low temperatures. As it liquefies slightly above room temperature, it will melt in the hand. Packed in plastic vials.

Ordered as a gift. Arrived on time. If you need pure gallium then this is your product. I can't see how it could warrant anything less than a 5-star review. It's 15g of pure gallium. If you want something other than gallium, then don't order this.

I purchased this for my husband for Christmas and he hasn't stopped playing with it since. He loves to pull it out and show it off. The only downfall, the bottle that it originally comes in is a pain to get the Gallium out of. We ended up purchasing a different type of container to keep it in and had to cut the original bottle open to get the Gallium out.

When we got this container of Gallium we floated it in a container of warm water till the metal melted. We poured it out and the Gallium resembled Mercury. We played with it for a long time, it is very captivating. It does leave a grey film on your hand. Nothing soap and water wont take off. It isn't a lot of Gallium but it is worth purchasing.

Just a word of warning: please do not ever take this onto an aircraft.
You may be fined heavily and will be responsible for the cost of a several hundred thousand dollar cleanup and repair of the airframe if this stuff spills, as it will destroy the aluminum alloys used in aircraft construction.
Seriously. Don't.

I bought this for a class presentation I had to give about Gallium. Its fun to play with and pretty cool, but loses its appeal after a while. Mine develops an oxide layer on its surface that can leave marks on whatever it touches, but it isn't too bad

It is possible I am easily entertained, but I think this stuff is really fun to play with. It's such a weird consistency that you probably haven't encountered! Bought it as a super cheesy Valentine's day gift; I melted it and put it in a foil heart mold and said "you melt my heart".

A couple things though! I thought it would literally melt in your hands, but instead it took some doing. I used my crappy mini fondue kit and melted it with a tea light candle. I think it would take a long time to melt in your hands. To get it out of the tube I had to microwave water and put the tube in there to get the gallium out, so find a different container for sure.

I don't know what else to say, other than this appears to be very pure high-quality gallium. If you haven't played with Gallium before let me tell you it is just like mercury but safer and more fun. It can be "frozen" at ambient temperature, and turned into a liquid by just holding it in your hand. It flows like mercury and there are lots of fun experiments to do with it.
Difficult to write a review for a chemical element, so I'll just say this seems to be the real thing and it should serve your purposes if, for some weird reason, you actually have gallium, or you want to teach your kids that chemistry can be fun.
