4.0 out of 5 stars Low quality but it works.
This product is fairly low quality which is to be expected based on the price, but it works perfectly. I purchased one to use in emergencies only, so I haven't tested it's long term quality.

1.0 out of 5 stars dark blue OK; light blue version falls apart
I have purchased 4 of these hand pumps over the last year. The first one, a darker blue plastic model, worked adequately. The next 3 lighter blue models (same company) all: 1) Had interior water stems which fell apart at first pump; leaving the stem floating in the bottle and impossible to retrieve until the bottle was empty. 2) Necks which did not adapt snugly to the...

4.0 out of 5 stars Works Great., December 29, 2008

This water pump is a great deal for the price. I've seen others for $25.00.
Be gentle with it; It's not the sturdiest plastic. I've already cracked the ring that tightens the fit to the neck of water bottle...So now the pumps leans a little to the side. No matter, it still works very well.

The next 3 lighter blue models (same company) all: 1) Had interior water stems which fell apart at first pump; leaving the stem floating in the bottle and impossible to retrieve until the bottle was empty. 2) Necks which did not adapt snugly to the water bottle, despite turning the tightening ring. I certainly would not buy this product again until it returns to the earlier model.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic value!, September 30, 2008
This review is from: 5 Gallon Bottle Drinking Water Pump (CD-ROM)
We purchased two of these for our summer home. We have a water service at our year round home, but needed something for our camp. This pump works fantastic! Our water service wanted to charge us almost $27 for just ONE! We purchased two for less than half of that. We love it and I'm so glad we found such a great deal.

1.0 out of 5 stars ineffective after a couple months, February 9, 2009

I purchased this for everyday use for two people. It was fantastic until sometime in the second month...the pump lost suction (the tightening ring never did seem to fit our standard 5 gal. jugs very snugly) and you have to pump really rapidly to get any water out. It just takes too long to get a glass of water. I'm going to buy a water crock to replace it. this particular model has made me too leary of pumps. If you're willing to replace it every couple of months--or if it is used infrequently--or if you really don't mind putting some elbow grease into your water retrieval, this might work for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Initial Results Great, April 30, 2009

We just received this pump and tested it and it works great! We put it atop a Culligan jug and seal is good. Will post again later for review on durability.

We've pumped two 5 gallon jugs now and it's still working just as it was when we got it. You do need some muscle to pump it. If you have a shoulder injury or weak arms - keep it on the floor and use your weight or get the battery version that is available.

12-2010 We've used this for water for six months straight - no problems. Works and seals just as it did the day we purchased it.

11-2011 We are still using this and it works great. We use is more occasionally now as we purchased an electric pump that connects to 5 gallon jugs. But still in great shape.

2.0 out of 5 stars cheap, September 23, 2008
This review is from: 5 Gallon Bottle Drinking Water Pump (CD-ROM)
The pump looks very cheaply made. When I received mine, it had a small hole in the spout which made water spray out to the side with every pump. I had purchased a 5 gallon bottle from Walmart and the pump did not fit correctly on the top. It was too loose.

This is the second water pump we have used. It makes life so much easier. You do end up replacing them about once a year due to normal wear and tear, but they are so inexpensive that it is definitely worth it. I would recommend this to anybody looking to get rid of the disposable water bottles but still get access to clean drinking water.
