Go, Baby, Go!,

This review is from: Gallop Racer (Video Game)
This is one of the best games I have played, ever. I was afraid at first that it might be more fanciful than I wanted, that maybe the horses were not even going to be horses at all, robots perhaps. But thankfully, they are truly horses. This is a most realistic game, with conditions such as sloppy tracks, getting bumped and dealing with getting boxed in. Most fun of all is winning the big races, because by the time you accomplish such a thing, you have truly put in your time with eating a lot of dust. You gradually build up a stable of better and better champs, and are invited to race in previously unknown races. Special trophies are awarded to the best horses, and when they retire, they are placed in a "hall-of-fame", where their stats are memorialized. A knowledge of horse-racing is almost a must before playing this game, such as knowing the difference between a dirt and turf track, a sprinter and a distance horse, and understanding how horses peak differently. Handicapping also comes into play. All in all, this is a most rich, educational game. Perhaps most of all, I have learned how much jockeying can make or break a race, no matter how good the horse.

Your Own Racing Stables!,
By Dondrick London (Louisiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gallop Racer (Video Game)
It's simply the best. My Dad and I have seen the sun come up a many mornings playing Gallop Racer. All of my other games are just collecting dust since we've been running horses. I'm 12 years old, my dad's been taking me to the race track since I was a baby. We race a couple horses every year. The only diffences between the game and real racing is you don't win real money and you don't have to go out to feed and train. I would rate this game 100 stars. The horses look real they run like real horses, the jocks look and ride like the Hall of Famers. You start a career create your very own jockey (male or female) in your silks, buy a horse or two and start winning races. You can run in regular stakes or graded stakes, where the big boys run. It's just so real the better he is on the track, the better he is in the breeding barn. Breed that tripple crown winner and get your horse and jockey into the Hall of Fame and other great awards. If your husband enjoy horse racing or you want him and your son to spend some quality time together get them this game. Gotta go now, got one about to run in the Louisiana Derby.

Pretty fun, tons of horses and races to choose from,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gallop Racer (Video Game)
I really love horse racing, so I found this game to be pretty fun. There are an enormous amount of horses to choose from to race with lots of statistics about each one. The game itself is a little bit tricky to figure out how to work, but only for a couple of races. I have found it to be a challenge though - not too easy!
