Fun for Young Kids,

The frog is adorable and is always good for a laugh (my son really started enjoying it at about 12 mo.)--we've had a lot of fun with this toy. Two things to be aware of, though: first, you have to pull the top all the way back to get the frog to jump out, which can be hard for a child to get the hang of--if we weren't there to give the lily pad that extra tug, our son would just pull the frog out himself. Second, based on our experience, by the time a kid gets a little older and can work the toy alone, it's only a matter of time before he starts using the jack-in-the-box as a catapult for other toys, so watch out.

My son received this toy for his first birthday and now 8 months later it is still one of his favorite toys. It makes him and any visiting playmates laugh and laugh out loud.

Delightful fun (like the old jack-in-the box),

This is such a fun jack-in-the-box. My 10-month old son loves to stuff the frog down and pull back the lily to have the frog jump out. It is so cute, too!

Cute but ....,

This toy is extremely cute but the one complaint that we have with it is...It is way to easy for your little one to just pull the frog out of the box instead of letting it pop up...The hinge is kind of tough to open so it is much easier for them to just pull the frog out which means its not that exciting for them and they move on quickly...If you do it for them though, they find it very entertaining but don't count on them to pick this up themselves to play with. Its a very cute toy though, the frog is adorable so I rated this for 3 stars.

Not worth the money,

We bought this for our son for his first birthday. As you can tell from the other reviews, little ones cannot operate the toy independently. Not only do they have to pull the hinged top all the way back for the frog to spring out, they have to push him all the way in the box until it clicks. A year later, ours is broken and the frog won't jump out at all. Wish we had our money back!

Lots of Frog Fun,

This Frog In The Box is a wonderful variation to an old toy. The frog comes completely out of the toy, is super soft and cute. I have 4 children ranging down from 7 and all of them enjoy playing with it. There is a platform inside that needs to be pushed down all the way in order for the frog to be set for another "pop" out of the box. This is easy to do and my youngest (18mos at the time) had no problem figuring out how to work it on her own. There has been no attempt by the children to put other things inside the box to see how they might fly across the room (not even by the boy) although Daddy has tried, I highly recommend this toy and think it is worth the money.

Great for therapy...,

My 22-month-old daughter's speech therapist has this toy and we love it (so does the therapist!). It is great for working on language(PUSH the inside down, PUT IN the frog, CLOSE the lid, wave BYE BYE, KNOCK on the top to see if the frog is there, PEEK inside, OUT comes the frog!). The frog really JUMPS out of the box - a nice reinforcer for the child. This is probably a toy which is best played with an adult and child together, and is lots of fun.

Fun toy for my son to play with. Although he has figured out how to lift the lid just enough to remove the frog from the box so it doesn't always "jump out".

my daughter, when she was 15 months, went to a xmas eve party. She was minding her own business when one of the other kids brought her this toy to play with. She was laughing so hard and for so long that she stopped the party of 20 people. Everyone was just staring at her and laughing with her..
We borrowed the toy, and she never had quite these waves of laughter but she loved it for a good 6 months.. Every kid who visited loved it too. It is mechanical so they learn soemthing, and they play. |
