5.0 out of 5 stars Sharpest hooks on the market, November 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gamakatsu 25 Pack EWG Offset Worm Hook (Sports)
First off Gamakatsu makes the sharpest hooks I've ever used. So just by buying this brand you're getting a good product. These are lightwire though they do make "superline" versions which are made from a thicker wire. I prefer the lightwire tho, take a lot less effort to set the hook and these are pretty damn strong, I've never bent one. I usually buy them by the 25 count packs because I like to fish a lot of gnarly vegetation or thick brush and sometimes you hang up on stumps etc..

The red helps for a little more attraction for the fish tho if you use pliers to get the hooks out, the finish will come off easily but its not a big deal to me. I use all sizes between 1/0 and 5/0....

1/0-2/0 for little 3inch creatures like tiny brush hogs or 4 inch worms (Strike King 3X finesse!)...I use the 3/0 the most, mainly for 5-7 inch worms and creatures...and 4/0-5/0 for big or meaty baits like 8-10inch worms or frogs/toads

You cant go wrong with these, I'll never use another brand (I'm no spokesperson, just a fan)

5.0 out of 5 stars hook review, July 8, 2011

provides superior sharpness in a light wire design, works great with wide and thin bodied plastics. use this size for smaller baits in the 3" to 5" range.
