The main characters were mischievous and adventurers. They came to life for the reader. They fought falling in love, she gives into it first, he fights it till the end. He is everything you don't like, but oh so sensual, you can't help falling for him along with her. Their journey, with the gambling, the buildup to sexual intimacy, the rescue of her brother, the trial, the admission of love, the almost marriage, the final marriage, the supporting characters, was VERY INTERESTING,INTERTAINING, AND MOVING. I highly recommend reading this book. My only negative comment is I would have preferred a little more detailed discription of the intimacy. But don't let this stop you! read it!

I really enjoyed this book. I had difficulty in finding redeeming qualities in the hero until the latter part of the book, but I thought his character was well-developed. The author did not spend too much time on his past, but she gave me just enough information that I felt like I understood him. I cared about seeing him eventually find love, and I rooted for him despite his hard-hearted manner. I didn't give the book five stars because I was distracted by quite a few spelling, grammatical, and typographical errors during my reading. Overall, though, I was impressed by the plot, characters, prose, and dialogue. I will definitely read other books by Laura Parker.

This was a very entertaining read! After reading some more serious books before this one...this was just the light-hearted story I needed. It was suspenseful, fun and sensual without any smutty love scenes! I enjoyed seeing Jack and Sabrina slowly fall in love with each other...without ever realizing it!...that just makes for a good love story! Go ahead and read it....and enjoy!!!
