6.99 is a good price for games and you play instantly. This game played well the first time and was fun and challenging. However, when I purchase these games several of the family play it at various times. So after I finished the first run through, it would not play again. When you got to certain parts in the game you could not go further because the game did NOT reset. I contacted the company and they did respond but they want you to delete, reload and I did and it did not work. Then they ask that I go into my set up and send them pictures of my set up. So sorry, that is too much trouble for $6.99 and there is NO return. I did not purchase this through Amazon and the blog where I purchased it read like a bad rap sheet. Everyone was having problems. Some could not complete it but most seemed to read the same that the problem was on a second playing. So basically you can at least decide knowing what may or may not happen and they may even have fixed the bugs by now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay way to kill a couple of hours, April 16, 2010

A mother and her two young children are out for a drive when they decide to have a picnic at a mysterious old house. While the mother is resting the children decide to explore the house. When the mother is startled awake by a loud crash she runs into the house and discovers the children have been imprisoned by a mystical mirror. Now she must solve a series of puzzles involving hidden objects in order to save her children.

"Mirror Mysteries" is a hidden object game featuring seven chapters: Giant Clock World; Frozen World; Volcano World; Dwarven World; Forest World; Toy World; and House Reflection World. Each chapter features various locations in which you find the hidden objects. Sometimes the stuff you find can be used immediately, other times it is put into inventory for later use. Also, you can't always find everything you need in a location at one time - you often have to leave one location, go to another to find the things there, and then go back to the prior location.

"Mirror Mysteries" is an okay, not really challenging hidden object game. There is no score and no time limit for the game, which makes for a nice leisurely paced game. There are also plenty of (unlimited) hints available. There are a few mini-games scattered throughout (but thankfully no jigsaw puzzle type games) and you can skip the mini-games with no penalty if you like. The hidden objects range from very easy to find to very hard to find as they blend into the background. While you do often have to go back to previous scenes this didn't bother me. The graphics in the game were so-so - mostly still pictures, but not a lot of movement in the "action" pictures. Some of the locations felt out of place in the game - a ship and water in the house? My real complaint about the game is that there is no real sense of urgency to it. The mother is supposed to be looking for her lost children but at no time does she seem frantic - instead, she seems more interested in solving the puzzles instead of locating the missing children. Finally, the game play is very quick - a couple of hours at the most.

"Mirror Mysteries" is an okay way to kill a couple of hours, but not one of the best hidden object games that I've played.

Unlike the previous reviewer, I had no trouble at all with the game. Yes, an object might have been difficult to locate but the hints helped and sometimes you needed to interact with an object before you could find everything. In general, this was a good spin on the usual seek-and-find game.

I would have liked a few more levels maybe. Its a nice looking game though and even though somewhat slight, the story gives a good context for the activity.

At $6.99, it sure was worth the money. Can't complain about that price!
