4.0 out of 5 stars It's Okay, But Only Holds 3 GBA Games
I got this case as a gift, and it's a great case if you want to take your GBA SP and a few games for a short trip. If, like me, you like to take several games and the adapter on longer trips, it's just too small.

I bought my GBA SP several months ago and bought one of these cases because I obviously wanted to protect my investment. I wish that I had not bought this particular case. It just doesn't suit my particular needs. There are pros and cons however.

Pros:

2.0 out of 5 stars Durable case is hampered by limited storage options and bulk, January 5, 2004
I bought my GBA SP several months ago and bought one of these cases because I obviously wanted to protect my investment. I wish that I had not bought this particular case. It just doesn't suit my particular needs. There are pros and cons however.

Pros:
-Rugged: This thing could take a beating, that's for sure. It has an extremely durable exterior.
-Storage: You can carry GBA SP games in this (but see below for a related con)

Cons:
-Storage: There is only enough room in the pouch to carry two games. (Three if you count the one that is actually in the GBA you are carrying.)
-Bulky: This is extremely bulky. For slim and sleek protection, check out the Black Leather Pelican GBA SP cover. That's what my wife has, and the one I plan on getting to replace this one. This is a somewhat attractive or nice looking case, but it is ultimately very unwieldy. On it's back is a loop that could be used as a belt strap or a laptop bag strap (in addition to the carry strap you see in the images). I can see you hooking it to a laptop bag shoulder strap, but not wearing it on your belt.

In a sales promotion, some stores were giving these away with GBA SP's. I actually paid for mine. I wish I hadn't. In a nutshell, it's durable and rugged, but bulky and storage options are limited.

Hope this helps you.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's Okay, But Only Holds 3 GBA Games, October 7, 2004

I got this case as a gift, and it's a great case if you want to take your GBA SP and a few games for a short trip. If, like me, you like to take several games and the adapter on longer trips, it's just too small.

At most, the case can hold the GBA SP (and one game inside) and 3 additional games. The games are stored in a little pocket on the front of the pouch, protected only by the flap. This isn't a lot of protection, should the case fall. The SP itself is pretty well padded in this case, as it provides enough protection for the system itself.

I have taken to using another backpack to hold additional games and the adapter, but I still put the system inside this case before putting it in the backpack.

If you want a cheap case or only have a few games, then this is the case for you!

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Buy, December 6, 2003
This is a decent buy because it is has a soft inner linning to protect your GameBoy SP. An interesting addition is the back of the case is a little slip that you can loop to your belt. I didn't use it but it's a nice option. It can really hold one game if you don't want the games scratching but it's more to protect the gameboy from dust and other harmful particles than anything else. It's a good buy if your room is dirty and you hate cleaning up but the thought of your gameboy breaking is simply atrocious.

2.0 out of 5 stars For ten bucks, it should hold more games..., November 13, 2003

There is a definite benefit on one of these cases -- I own one -- and that is keeping the GBA protected from the wear-and-tear of day-to-day use. However, the inabilty to carry more than three games (one in the GBA and two in the pouch) is moderately annoying. Get this if you're going to have your GBA floating around in your backpack or messenger bag.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great buy for a begginer, April 25, 2004
By A Customer
I dont know what people are talking about i love this case. The inside is really soft to keep your gameboy advance sp from scratching. Although it is pretty small you can atleast still fit 3 games in it and whoes gonna bring more that that anyway, right?! I would say that if your a game freak and have alot of games this probibly isnt for u. But if your like me its great and for only 10.00$ how can u go wrong!?

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't let the crybabies sway you..., January 13, 2004
I have the blue version of this bag (to go with my cobalt SP)and love it! I only need 3 games (one in the SP) with me at a time anyway! What kind of freak needs a duffel bag for a case? This is sleek! The SP fits snugly inside with no moving around and 2 games fit safely in the front pocket (I prefer to have them facing with wider ends of the cartridges towards the middle for the best and safest fit. ^_^ The flap covers way over the top of the bag and keeps that SP in there! It comes with a wrist handle that I love (but can be taken off) and can be placed on a belt at the hip or can be placed on a backpack strap (preferably at your side where it's safe.) I picked this case SPECIFICALLY because it was small!(I bought it at a brick-and-mortar store though,so I knew what I was getting)But I guess guys (it seems at least from the feedback) are too afraid to look like they're carrying a purse. Hello! No one's going to think you're carrying a purse! In an age of tiny technical gadgets, everyone is carrying something in a tiny "purse-like" case. It's called PORTABILITY! Perfect for carrying around the campus without taking up precious backback room or worse, getting smashed to bits! ^_^;

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted, March 31, 2004

I was looking for a small case that would hold, yes, TWO games! and protect the GB better than a plastic bag on brief outings. If you want something to store all your stuff get something bigger.

This case is good-looking, solidly made and serves its purpose well. As for "bulky", well it is barely bigger than the gameboy itself and that size is also just what I was looking for.

1.0 out of 5 stars Way too small for anything., April 5, 2004
As I bought this case, for some reason I thought it would be able to hold my GBA SP safely, and maybe a game or two extra. Yes it holds the GBA SP, but nothing else. Getting a game out of the miniscule pouch is an exercise in pure masochism. A much better idea is to buy a small case for the older GBA, and then use that. The extra space intended for the older system will allow you to put in more games, and your SP. Buying this is like putting your GBA in a tight pocket in your jeans. You know it's there, and safe, but God help you if you can get it out.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK Case, February 1, 2010
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Game Boy Carrying Case (colors may vary) (Electronics)
Overall the case works. It is nicely constructed and holding up fine. The only two issues are the size - it is a little on the small side. The GBA SP fits, but it is kind of a tight fit. My 6 year old son kind of struggles with it and therefore doesn't use it as much as I would like. I think for an "older" user this wouldn't be an issue and keeping the case as small as possible could be a plus based on the user. The other size issue is a lack of space to carry games in the game pocket. Without the GBA already in the case you can squeeze 4 cartridges in there, but this makes it even harder to get the GBA in and out. If you only wanted to carry 2 games in there not a problem, but more than that it is kind of hard. For the price it is very good case, beside the size.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect!, January 22, 2005

= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I purchased this bag today because of it's size. It took me a while to purchase this item because the picture is a bit deceiving. Originally, just looking at the picture I thought it would be too big. I don't need to put many games in it or accessories, I just wanted something as small as possible to proctect my gameboy and this was perfect.
