5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and cool!
This is not the first Gold/Silver Pokemon Gameboy Color console. Nintendo had one available through a contest that had Pikachu on the left of the screen and on the right, one on top of the other, were Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile. the words "Pokémon Center" and a Poké Ball near the bottom of the console. Unfortunately, residents of New York,...

1.0 out of 5 stars I hate this! It has stupid little Pikachu!
I hate Pikachu! He is so stupid! This Game Boy unit has Pikachu on it! That is the purebred only reason I absolutely hate this Pokemon product! I think Team Rocket rules and I hate Ash! I am even crying because Team Rocket won't take Ash's Pikachu! I badly want them to and they don't because Ash thinks he'll die without Pikachu! That is so false and I don't like...

Unfortunately, residents of New York, Florida and Quebec were not eligible to enter (laws). I was disappointed and called them, asking to release one for sale. I'm sure others called in asking the same thing. The console changes from gold to silver in the light thanks to a special paint, and Pikachu jumps with glee (the power light is its right cheek! Priceless!) and little Pichu is on the bottom right, looking as cute as Pikachu. I also have the original Pokémon Yellow Gameboy console, and am thrilled to have both of these. You will love the Gold and Silver Gameboy console. The box is even great! You will find yourself rotating the console in the light just to see it change from gold to silver while you play, or just while admiring it! If you're a Pokémon fan like me (and I'll be 33 near the end of this month!) you owe it to yourself to save your bucks to get this cool console. Now if only Nintendo would release a Pokémon console for Gameboy Advance ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Pikachu rules!!, April 26, 2001

This gameboy rocks. Even if the gameboy advance is coming out, and I am getting it. I bought this not too long ago. I bought pokemon gold with it. This is definitely for everybody. This system changes color from gold to silver in different directions. This thing is the same as a regular gameboy except it has a Pikachu and a Pichu on the gameboy. Some things that I recommend you buying is the Nintendo AC adapter. I don't like to buy 3rd party stuff. They are very unrealiable.

This is all new to me. I'm purchasing this as a gift. I sure the person who receives it will be very happy. One last thing, people with negative attitudes (Justin Pikachuihate,(seems quite hostile, I wouldn't want to stand next to you in a toy store!)) should find another place to vent. This is a kids video toy! Just because you don't like Pikachu doesn't other kids don't like him. If it's making you this miserable, buy a Gameboy that doesn't have Pikachu on it!

this is great for any pokemon fan.you can play your games on it (the ones that r just gameboy too)and it come w/ batteries. they lasted for about 20 hours! i like the pikachu and pichu design on the sides of the screen. if you need a gameboy color or you just like pokemon you should consider buying this.it'll be worth something later and it's the same price.

5.0 out of 5 stars A definate for Pokemon and Gameboy Lovers, November 4, 2001

I brought myself a regular Gameboy Color and had it for about three months before these gameboys were released. I am not usually one to follow trends, but I brought one of these Limited Gameboys for two reasons... I am a Gamyboy Lover and somewhat of a Pokemon Collector. This is the Ulitimate Collectors item. Can you imagine how much it will sell for in the future to those who are fans of Pokemon now??.

I was a huge fan of the Ninja Turtles... and I tell you what... if they had a gameboy released when I was younger I wouldn't have been able to afford it, but now I that I have a steady income I could and I would. All the eight year olds you see running around now are going to be dying to get one of these in ten years from now...!!

This is a definate collector item and it's highlight is the two-tone colour it has - it flecks gold and silver!!... better than any other Gameboy that you can find!!.

5 Stars on this item!!

5.0 out of 5 stars "PIKA!", June 13, 2001
This review is from: Game Boy Color: Limited Pokemon Edition (Game Cartridge)
Alright, it may not have much 'extra', other than the cute little electric guys, but it's fun to have. The best part is, that even though it is a Limited Edition, it is the same price as the original. So...if any trainers are looking for a replacement console, or just looking for a console period (like I was), then buying this will just add a fun touch to the gaming atmosphere. Also noted....I just love how the console colour shifts from gold to silver pending on light....but then, I'm a sucker for little details like that...almost as much as I'm a sucker for pikachu.

It is Pikachu, or whover he is. Somehow the kids are convinced if it is a special Pokemon Edition GB they will better trainers. My daughter loves the cool colors, they seem better able to pick out their own GB from a pile, so I have been told. This is all I know, they love it. So get it in their favorite color.

I grew up when this game and Game Boy system both caame out, and I recieved them as a birthday present. Then through the years I played it, lost it, played it again, got frustrated, lost it again, found it and got addicted, and finally beat the Elit Four. Then I lost it again and decided to by another set so I could go back to my youth and remember the innocence of that time.

Honestly, the concept of a Pokemon edition Gameboy with a game modeled after the TV show/comic book is rather creative, and the strategic abilities it teaches kids is valuable to kids' learning curves. I have read others state that there is not enough difference between Yellow and Red/Blue to warrant another game, but I would argue that the familiar story line to the show, where the kids can enact their favorite Ash and Pikachu, and also get the three basic Pokemon (Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle) for free is well worth it. I would recomend this game as a fairly innocent way to show kids that they have to strategize sometimes to solve problems, and also to work towards something they want. I also like the game period--as one who's definately not a gamer, it appeals to me. GO PIKACHU!
