2.0 out of 5 stars Not much has changed
I expected more out of nintendo. This game is just like mario party 6 except bowser is more obnoxious than ever! You spend a lot more time waiting for it to be your turn which means the game takes a lot more time to play. I am very disappointed with this game.

This review is from: Game Cube Mario Party 7 Bundle (Video Game)
This is a great bundle. It includes a second controller, the boxed Mario party 7 game with a microphone (necessary for some of the mini-games). We were looking for a video game system that the family could play together...and this was a great value for us. (We did go out and buy a third controller for our little girl the very next day. It was necessary so that we could all three play at one time.)

The game it's self is a lot of fun. The main game...a Party Cruise...is set up as a board game. You move around the board, collecting coins in hopes of purchasing stars. During play there are also mini-games. They are a lot of fun, and there are SO MANY...wow! There are Orbs that, hopefully, give you advantages...and Bowser shows up to try and ruin your day.

Some of the mini-games are too challenging for our 4 year old to be competative...but she loves giving them a try. We use the practice option quite a bit for her. The board portion of the game, is pretty much the luck of the dice roll. At the end of the game, additional stars are awarded...as a bonus. The awards vary each time you play. This has been a great game for all of us.

As for the choosing the Gamecube over the other types of systems. The one thing I have noticed is that when you go to rent or purchase the games...the Playstation 2 and Xbox have MANY more games on the shelves. I don't know if more is necessarily better...but it is obvious when you have 1 case of games to look at, and the other brands have 3. This has especially been the case when we looked for used games.

All in all, I'd highly recommend this bundle for a family. It's a great value, as the Mario Party 7 game, right now, sells for $50...and the extra controller is $20.

4.0 out of 5 stars Partying With The Plumber, November 12, 2005
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Game Cube Mario Party 7 Bundle (Video Game)
There is just absolutely no doubt about Nintendo and it uses for the way they market their systems. That has happened in so many different ways with their Gamecube system recently. With various kinds of games from fighting games to all around clasics like Super Smash Brothers Melee, to Pokemon, Nintendo really has found ways to make those gamers go hog wild. Yet, with all the hype, Nintendo has recently done it all again right out of the gate with Mario. With previous bundle packs of Gamecubes with Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, and Super Mario Sunshine, now a new game with this plumber is sure to leave a blast for everybody in the world.

The Nintendo Gamecube Mario Party 7 bundle edition, is a Gamecube system with 2 controllers for anybody to tackle on those big gamers with, and their recently issued Mario Party 7. The game is a true fashion to what Nintendo has made with the Mario Party games for the Nintendo Gamecube before, extraordinary and fun. This editon tackles on more with the microphone games than the last edition, with about nearly a dozen different kind of challenging mini-games. In this edition, there are also so many different unlockables like before as you can play with the previous cast which includes Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, and others, and the debuts of Birdo from Super Mario Brothers 2 and Dry Bones from Super Mario Brothers 3 into the festivity. The games are fun and challenging, and even more exciting for the fact that you actually can play up to as many as 8 players in the deluxe cruise, for 8 times the fun and special enduring mini-games.

All in all, the Nintendo Gamecube Mario Party 7 Bundle edition is really worth the money for anybody who doesn't still own a Gamecube yet. Still, this also might be one of the last bundle editions Nintendo could unveil for the Gamecube, considering all the hype for the upcoming revolution system. Nevertheless, this interactive party is really worth the fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gamecube is great for kids, December 5, 2005
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Game Cube Mario Party 7 Bundle (Video Game)
Our family now has three consoles. We bought the Cube way back in the day for our oldest son. This past summer ('05) I picked up an XBOX for "the family" but mostly me.

I just bought another GC (this bundle) for my youngest son. That should tell you how impressed I am with this little unit.

I picked the GC over the XBox primarily because of the gameplay/Nintendo titles. There's just something about "Mario" and video gaming for kids. The PS2 was out of the question because it seemed to offer nothing that the other two didn't already have, outside of its huge gaming library, most of which, to me, looked to be marginal. For me, the PS2 was never a consideration.

The GC has proved very sturdy. There's no motorized trey to break like with the other consoles, so it's better for kids. The small game discs are easier to handle for small hands. And then there's the great lineup of real, fun, pick up and play video games: Mario, Zelda, Super Smash, Metroid--all first rate titles.

I dunno--my XBOX will hang, jerk, drag, etc, all things I've come to expect from PC gaming--but the GC just seems to work, and work well.

If you have kids, or want a second console, go with the GC.

My only regret is not buying a gamecube years ago. This little console is BIG on content. Added two 'wavebird' wireless controllers and a S-Video cable. Games played thus far are Mario Kart, Mario Golf, Mario SunShine, and Madden 2004. Madden 2004 is awesome. The Mario games are outstanding. You can't beat the price of this system. Buy one, you will not be disappointed!

This is my first game console that I intend to keep but it should say before you buy or on the box you need a memory card (any size) or every time you start a new game, you'll have to start from the beginning! Love it however! Another small thing, it does use a fan that you can here if nothing is on (all my devices don't have fans so I'm not used to hearing a box) but not an issue while your engrossed in a game!

I've played Mario Kart Double and Mario 7. I like them both. For less than $200 us dollars you can get a console, four controllers with two extension cords, two small memory modules, three games (two used - one didn't work - argh). I got the Mario Party 7 with console - two controllers. Then went and got two controllers with extensions and small memory card for $13 each. Then two more used games (beware as I said) Great value! P.S. I'm sure I bought the last one available in Clarksville IN yesterday.

I'm no game expert. My son wanted this for Christmas, because a friend of his has one. I was happier getting it as a game console than the more expensive game consoles (although I didn't see what was wrong with just using PC games), because the Nintendo games seem more oriented to kids. On watching the kids play the included games, I'm surprised both at how simplistic they seem, and how much fun the kids have had with them. You need to buy a separate proprietary memory card if you want to save game settings and so forth. One thing that seems odd about this machine it that the picture seems fuzzy.

This bundle was a stellar deal in December 2005 when it sold for $99.99 new.

Overall, I picked up a GameCube for casual gaming to play multi-player games with a non-gamer. It is a good replacement for board games. I bought it to play games like Mario Party 7 and it has been great. I already owned an XBox since 2001, but bought the GameCube in 2005 since it was really cheap and the simple games on it that aren't available elsewhere. It has been fun as a secondary system. I still prefer my Xbox for all other games than the multi-player games, but for the price, it is fun to pick up some of the GameCube games.

Gamestop is awesome, it was less than a week to get the bundle. Plus it was like getting a gamecube for the same price as a game. Way to go gamestop
