This book explains the classic strategies and shots used in winning doubles tennis play. The book includes a statistical analysis of winning shots and strategies for all aspects of the game including serve, return of serve, net play and baseline play. It has numerous shot and point diagrams that clearly illustrate outstanding points from actual tennis matches and how points are won. All players, regardless of their stroke and shot producting skill, will benefit from this book as it will both improve your doubles play and give you great insights as a spectator.

Unlike the companion book, The Game of Singles in Tennis, by the same authors, this book is not only of historical interest, the tactics still apply today with modern equipment and technique. However, one does have to know how to volley well, which in some circles is a lost art. Excellent book, recommended for coaches and any player who aspires to play top-notch doubles.

The book is an oldie but goodie. The cover was worn, the pages are dogeared, but if you are a tennis enthusiast you'll like the book!
