Dominic and Melissa's story is much more likeable and this book is much better than the first book (Game for Anything). Bella Andre's writing gave these two characters an interesting connection from the beginning. While not a great read it was decent. 5.0 out of 5 stars Five Booksmarks from Wild on Books!, September 30, 2008
This review is from: Game for Seduction (Paperback)
Melissa McKnight has loved Dominic DiMarco since she was seventeen years old. The daughter of a famous sports agent, Melissa knows that Dominic, a successful wide receiver for the San Francisco Outlaws, is off-limits and out of her league. She works for her father and as such knows that she should remain professional with Dominic. Easier said than done because it seems that Dominic is having a hard time keeping his hands, lips and other highly gorgeous body parts to himself.

Dominic knows that his touching of Melissa is the lowest of the low. For years he has watched the gangly teenager evolve into a beautiful woman. The night he finds her tipsy in a bar frequented by other professional athletes, Dominic decides there is no way another man will ever touch her again. Game on.

Dominic and Melissa begin a blazing affair. Each tells their inner self that their involvement with the other is only temporary but secretly Dominic and Melissa ultimately realize that they are over their heads but are unable to stop seeing each other. Dominic prides himself on his control but Melissa shatters every defense mechanism he has because suddenly, what they feel for each other is no longer a game.

If I was not guilty of lusting after football players before reading GAME FOR SEDUCTION, I am certainly guilty now. Dominic DiMarco is sin personified all wrapped up in a nice, tight, hard body. He controls his emotions because if he does not, every thing he has worked for since becoming a professional football player might just blow up in his face. The only times he allows his guard down are the times he and Melissa are together. Dominic's feelings for Melissa shine through with every kiss and every touch. Melissa's feelings for Dominic have never wavered since she was a young girl. She loved him then and she loves him now.

GAME FOR SEDUCTION should come with its own warning label stating, "Genuine emotions and scorching hot sex!" GAME FOR SEDUCTION engaged me as a romantic first and foremost and then kept me enthralled as a reader with skillfully written and often times naughty scenes. Bella Andre scores a winning touchdown with GAME FOR SEDUCTION. It is powerfully seductive and explosively passionate. Readers should snatch this baby up immediately!

As a side note, GAME FOR SEDUCTION is the second book in Bella Andre's new series titled The Bad Boys of Football. I always recommend reading books in order so readers would benefit from grabbing up the first installment, Game for Anything. If that is not an option, then I am delighted to say that GAME FOR SEDUCTION can be completed read as a standalone! This book is definitely a winner! ***Natalie S. for Wild on Books***

5.0 out of 5 stars Feel Good Romance, March 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Game for Seduction (Paperback)
This was a quick, engaging romance. Everyone knows how a romance will end. The fun is seeing how the two characters get there. Melissa has had a crush on Dominic since she was a teen. Dominic noticed her once she grew up but decided she was off-limits because she was the daughter of his agent. Besides, he still feels guilty about something stupid he did as a teenager.

Melissa has been working for her father's company and now she wants a promotion to agent. Her father still sees her as a girl and is something of a chauvinist as well - women shouldn't be agents. He gives Melissa a player who is going to be a challenge to represent and Dominic decides he wants her to represent him too. Melissa has always wanted her father's approval but he is mostly critical of her.

Their romance quickly heats up. I just laughed at all the unlikely places that passion overtook the couple - empty restaurants, back rooms at charity events, sports cars in Golden Gate Park. But, while the sexual connection was strong, neither was ready to trust the other with their emotions.

This was a quick read. I would recommend it for those over 18 because of the rather explicit sexual scenes. But it was a fun, feel-good romance. I like the pure escapism of a romance once in a while.

Bella Andre is a great and creative writer with good characters. The characters have flaws and they seem to be realistic. If you've read Bella Andre before, then you'll highly enjoy this book!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Game for Seduction, September 14, 2008

This review is from: Game for Seduction (Paperback)
Melissa McKnight has lived in the shadow of her famous sports agent father her whole life. When she was younger, he constantly put her down, and that caused her to feel that she was worthless. Not much had changed now that she was all grown up. She was trying to follow in his shoes, but he was convinced that a woman could never have any success as an agent. Instead of encouragement, she was always on the receiving end of his negativity. Melissa was very good as a subordinate, and after demanding her own clients; her father gave her a token client that was set up to be a failure for her.

Dominic DiMarco is a wide receiver for the Outlaws, and also a client of the McKnight Agency. He has known Melissa for fifteen years watching her turn from a homely shy girl into a very beautiful desirable woman. A woman he has wanted to brand for his very own, but due to his relationship with her family, she was always off limits. When she was at a photo shoot with him, and the photographer asked her to pose with him for a few test shots, the temptation was too great, and Dominic allowed himself to get close. After just a taste of her, he was a hooked, and there was no looking back.

Dominic could see that Melissa's father was setting her up, and decided to have her represent him to lend her some credibility. They had a very difficult time maintaining appearances that they only had a business relationship, but did it because propriety demanded it. When horrible events from Dominic's past threatened his job and future, they both had to search their souls making decisions that would affect the rest of their lives.

This is a great follow-up to the first installment Game for Anything in fact I actually liked this story more. Dominic and Melissa have known each other for years, and that was a good base for them to build on. He was nearing the end of his career and she was just getting started on hers. Melissa had a fierce need to prove herself which many times caused a battle because he had an inherit need to protect. A good story with some very steamy scenes makes this a recommended read!

5.0 out of 5 stars The latest Bad Boys of Football contemporary romance is a fun tale, September 3, 2008
This review is from: Game for Seduction (Paperback)
Melissa McKnight is determined to prove that she is more than just the daughter of a superstar sports agent; her goal to make it in the male exclusive world although she recognizes her surname brings recognition but also doubters.

Melissa's biggest problem is her desire to perform unprofessional sexual trysts with one of her dad's top clients Dominic DiMarco. She hides her feelings until she and Dominic pose for a photo shoot. Dominic has been very careful to avoid scandal, but when it comes to Melissa he is unsure he can keep himself in line as he wants. He especially understands she is taboo as the daughter of his agent, but making love to her would be like winning the Superbowl, World Series, Stanley Cup and NBA title in one passionate relationship. Being together, though, may end both their careers.

The latest Bad Boys of Football contemporary romance is a fun tale starring two individuals who put up strong offensive lines around their respective hearts to avoid love sacking what each considers their well-being. Dom and Mel are fully developed although his concerns for dodging love (he is more elusive than Fran Tarkenton was eluding tacklers) seem trivial while hers is understandable. Fans will appreciate this hot sports romance as Bella Andre throws another touchdown (see GAME FOR ANYTHING).

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeper, March 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I loved everything about this book except the price, but i won't fault the author for that. It was too much (more than i pay for my better known authors who's books are twice this long) so really the publisher needs to reevaluate. I won't be buying the first one now that i know how short they are... with that said....

It is a keeper for me and i will be rereading this. Loved how the H was strong without being a jerk. He was one i would like to take me home! The h developing more confidence through the story was a nice touch and made me feel for her throughout and like her more and more as the story developed.

The sex scenes were hot without being sleazy. There was actually a story behind the relationship not just a couple of paragraphs that were there to fill the spaces between the sex scenes. I would have liked to see more time devoted to the story of their histories (especially given the price) but overall i was very pleased with the writing and the storyline. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars TOUCHDOWN! Highly Provocative!, October 20, 2010
This review is from: Game for Seduction (Paperback)
Oh My Lord!! This novel was definitely beyond my expectations, especially since it ONLY took me TWO DAYS to read it. Most of the erotic novels I've read thus far have just been foreplay, compared to this one written by Ms. Andre.

This was my first novel by her, and most definitely won't be my last one. When Ms. Andre described in full detail the numerous sexcapades Dominic and Melissa shared, I felt as though I was committing voyeurism, being in the same room, vehicle, or any public location known to man, about to participate alongside with them. The match was lit and it NEVER SIZZLED AWAY!

It was IMMENSELY GRATIFYING { >;o)~~~ My Mischievously, Wicked Grin}

There was NO way this novel was typical or predictable, especially since normally it takes the hero/alpha male to realize half way through the book, what kind of HELLCAT he has between the sheets, and who has complete possession over his heart. NOT from the first time he touches her!

Dominic had a way to move heaven and earth to keep Melissa hanging on, whatever it took, he would ultimately fight hell or whomever stood in his way, to make her, HIS!

I'm looking forward to "Game for Love," the next installment to "The Bad Boys of Football" Series.

WELL DONE MS. ANDRE, THIS NOVEL DESERVES WELL BEYOND A 10 STAR RATING!!

This book actually got to me cause I knew what they were talking about with the football thing going on. I really liked it and love to read things that have to do with how other people even if they are of a certain status just want to be normal.
