Very secure and safe,

Have used this stand all season and have really enjoyed the added height. I have had deer come in fast and slow right under me and have not been spotted or scented. I use this stand for bow and the rail is designed so when standing it is well out of the way of bow movement in the down postion. I also like the rail to hang my video camera on with a flex tripod. This stand is very sturdy. The two best features are the ladder is a double rail and the seat is comfortable, it is nicely padded and sits on a mesh steel. Be careful of stands that have a few bars covered by a padded seat. I was able build the stand at home and transport to my hunting site in a Jeep. The ladder is in 4 sections and carries easily. Quality stand that should last for years. Good Hunting!
