Product Description

Game of Thrones is a card game for two players based on the epic HBO series where players wage war in the fields of Westeros and conspire to crush their opponents at court in Kings Landing. You can shift the balance of power with game-changing plot cards, then marshall your forces and engage your opponent in a series of challenges to gain power for your House.

Two fixed, fifty-card decks allow players to experience their own battles and courtly intrigues in the lands of Westeros as House Lannister or House Stark. Each deck includes many of the show's most recognizable characters and locations, including Eddard Stark, Cersei Lannister, Robert Baratheon, Littlefinger, and Jon Snow.

My fiancé and I love playing it together!

In particular, I don't see how Lannister stands a chance heads up against Stark.

Due to unclear instructions, the game takes quite a while to learn.

I really enjoyed this game and can't wait for expansions. I have never played the Living Card Game previously released but we do play Magic: The Gathering. Not sure if this made learning the rules easier of not (some rules/concepts are similar to Magic) but the directions are well written and impressively organized. A quick read and then we jumped right in which seemed the best way to go. Rules were easy to look up and kept the game going which was really nice. Before I knew it, I was seeing the cool interactions and tactical intricacy of the game very befitting of the show. I played Stark my first game and thought the decks were very well balanced while staying true to the themes of the clans skill set from the show ( Stark strong in power challenges, Lanister strong in intrigue challenges). I'm very glad I bought this game and hope expansions are on the way. Highly recommended so please ask me any questions you have about the game.

Little hard to learn at first but once you have it down it's a lot of fun. First game took 1.5 hours, second game took 45 min.

I need to preface my review by acknowledging that my wife and I aren't familiar with Magic cards or similar strategy card games. That being said, it took us about 4 hours to get through the first round of play. The instructions were ok, but quite ambiguous and confusing. The only way we actually figured it out was to watch youtube "how-to" videos by Fantasy Flight games. I recommend watching them before purchasing and playing. [...]

Good game, will continue to play.

A very good game, I can't wait for the expansions.
And if you don't like to play is OK, cause is a very nice collectible item, the images are good selected from the T.V. show.
I try to collect everything related to this great master piece from George R.R. Martin.
Thank you Amazon for the good job!!!

Due to unclear instructions, the game takes quite a while to learn. Once we learned how to play and started going through the rounds, we discovered that Lannister has a hugely unfair advantage, resulting in a very frustrating game for whoever plays Stark. As far as we can tell, there is no Stark advantage to balance out the sides. Seeing as there is also the Game of Thrones board game and the Game of Thrones Living Card Game out there, I wouldn't recommend this particular Game of Thrones game.

My wife and I have been playing this game and have not played the tournament version before. We heard this was a good introduction and we have enjoyed playing it. There were some rule questions that started to pop up as we played more and become a bit more savvy, but searches on sites like boardgamegeek.com and asking some of our friends answered our questions--most of which seem to have come up for other players before. Not sure if we'll move on to the tournament version, which I think is the intention of this game. But maybe so if we keep playing, to add some variety.
