To use the Broadband Adapter you'll need a 10 megabit (10Base-T) or 100 megabit (100Base-TX) network cable, a broadband connection device such as a cable modem or DSL adapter with an available Ethernet port, and a valid account with a Broadband Internet Service Provider. Please be aware that some service providers, eg. AOL, do not allow outside software to access their services without the use of a special login tool. Please contact your service provider if you're not sure whether or not they allow this.

I only wish more games could be used with it!,

Dial up is too slow for me, so when Phantasy Star Online and the broadband Adapter became available I snagged both, intending to use high speed Internet as my means of playing online. Nintendo's mistake with this device is the limited availability. The weakness of GameCube is solely its refusal to commit to a strong line up of online games. Here it is online ready, yet this adapter is difficult to find (but far from out of print) and there's only PSO that can be used with it. Thankfully, when you can find it through a retail outlet it is reasonably priced. You can actually take your 'Cube online for less than it costs to take your XBox online... although Microsoft really does have the better online plan. This is a great peripheral, I only hope that PSO isn't the only game to utilize it... lets get some Mario Kart!

The BBA is incredible!!! I don't have PSO but I've used Mario Kart with Warp Pipe (http://www.warppipe.com) and it rocks the house!! I just snap in the adapter, use a crossover cable to connect it to my wireless computer, then go!! I admit PS2 Network Adapter is easier to set up, simply connect it to a router and go, but Warp Pipe and the BBA have the skills to math that!! Okay, so it can't surf the internet, but it's a pure GAMES CONSOLE (which is also why it's faster than the PS2 by 100MHz) You MUST buy this if you have a gamecube!!

According to the latest news, you can now use the Broadband Adapter to play Mario Kart online. It's supposed to be pretty good quality play. More info can be found at www.warppipe.com. I'm very tempted to get one now.
