5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent controller in a fun color
The official Nintendo Gamecube controller is the best console controller on the market, for ANY system. In my opinion, it's also the best controller that there ever has been, for any system, and I've been playing video games for a long time.

The official Nintendo Gamecube controller is the best console controller on the market, for ANY system. In my opinion, it's also the best controller that there ever has been, for any system, and I've been playing video games for a long time.

This controller is shaped so that when you pick it up, it feels like it was molded for your hands. It is extremely comfortable to hold, and your hands won't hurt after playing games for a few hours. Not only is it the highest-quality controller out there for the Gamecube, but you will also never need to buy a Microcon or a Pro Mini controller, because it is an excellent controller for hands of any size. For example, I can't use standard XBox controllers because they're so HUGE that I can't even comfortably reach all the buttons. I even had to buy a Microcon for my Ps2, because I couldn't reach the shoulder buttons on the standard Ps2 controller. Not so with the Gamecube--the shape and the layout of the buttons is GREAT and anyone should be able to comfortably reach and use all of them.

Finally, I really love this bright orange color. Indigo and jet (black) get kind of boring after a while, and it's nice that they offer something else. Out of my four controllers, the orange one is my favorite. :)

Don't buy third-party controllers just because they're cheaper! This is the best controller out there!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wild Controller, August 7, 2005

Why is it that controller colors have to be a bland color such as black, gray, or silver. There really isn't much that have brought out the feeling of a bright controller. Fortunately, Nintendo has really made a great controller that can bring out the wildness of a game player. The Nintendo Gamecube controller in a bright, invigorating orange is not just exciting, but also very easy to operate for any gamecube owner. Nintendo always makes very easy to operate controllers that are not just worth it in price, but also in controls. I love it inorange, and I just hope Nintendo can try to make more bright-colored ones like this, before there will be no more Gamecube games soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Controller, one small issue..., January 9, 2009

if you are ever looking for a gamecube controller for your wii i highly recommend this controller. It's a great color and the buttons work fine, but there is just 1 small problem. My C-stick doesn't work for some reason, it's probably just the one i got but i rarely use it anyway. but if you are looking for a gamecube controller make sure its one directly from nintendo and not that other 3rd party crap

Despite the pictures showing a controller emblazoned with a Nintendo logo and the "By Nintendo" in the manufacturer info space, this is not a first-party controller.

Both of the sellers I purchased controllers from sent me the same aftermarket third-party controllers.

The good news is that these third-party controllers are (knock on wood) performing very well.
My previous experience with third-party controllers is that they either don't work, or that they work for about a week.

My major gripe is that the attached cord is extremely short. I would recommend an extension cord unless you habitually sit that close to your TV.

Caveat emptor--it would seem that if a product is similar enough to the one you see in the picture, Amazon.com just considers it to be the same product.
The third-party controller does look very similar; it just is not the same.
It should be more than good enough for most applications, and I'm fairly picky.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Addition for Wii owners, September 29, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Wii console will play any game that Nintendo ever produced, going back 20 years, including the Gamecube. However, one needs Gamecube controllers, which are not wireless (and a gamecube memory card, if you want to save your game progress).

This controller works fine with the Wii. I recommend that you purchase an extension cord for the controller, since the cord is only 6 feet long.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best controller there is, and in orange too!, October 29, 2005

In my opinion, the Gamecube controller is by far the most comfortable one in the market. The controller fits perfectly in my hand, and the buttons are in easy reach. It feels solid(but not too heavy) when being held. There's the right amount of buttons, so it isn't confusing, but enough to play a game with.

None of my controllers have given me any problems in the year I've had my Gamecube. In fact, the main reason I got a Gameube was because of its controller.

This product is definitely worth buying. And one more good thing: it's orange!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Controller, March 15, 2005
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: GameCube Controller - Spice Orange (Video Game)
I do have four controllers. This is the one I use the most. I have a WaveBird wireless, two indigo controllers, and a third party controller. I like the unique orange color. The only reason why I do not use the wireless more (especially for single player games), is because the orange one rumbles. I like my controllers to vibrate in my hands. DO NOT by a third-party controller. The original, Nintendo made, first party controllers are the best. The Gamecube has the best controller of the BIg 3. PS2's controller is too confusing. The XBOX: What's up with the black & white buttons?
