5.0 out of 5 stars Best video game enhancer ever
You NEED to get this enhancer for any gameboy and gameboy color games. Yes, sometimes it does mess up a game, but the problems are easily fixed. And, for all you Pokemon fans, it now includes a booklet with cheats for Pokemon Yellow, Blue, Red, Pinball, and Trading Card games. However, they have yet to provide cheats for Gold and Silver with the enhancer, but they are...

And, for all you Pokemon fans, it now includes a booklet with cheats for Pokemon Yellow, Blue, Red, Pinball, and Trading Card games. However, they have yet to provide cheats for Gold and Silver with the enhancer, but they are available on their website. It's easy to enter codes. And the enhancer comes with a CD-Rom, cable, library of pre-loaded games with cheats, and by hooking it up to your computer, you can change the background. Get it. You need it. It's extermely helpful. In Gold and Silver, you can get the rarest type of Pokemon: Metallic ones. Just buy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Way Cool, But be careful what codes you use., December 13, 2000
A Kid's Review
This review is from: GameShark (Video Game)
I have a few things to say about Gameshark Pro. Number 1, it can make the game you are using much more fun. 2, It DOES NOT have to take all the fun out of the game, you CAN choose the codes you use. (I myself think codes like invincibility are cheap, but Gameshark has other codes.) 3, Use codes ONLY from Gameshark's official site. 4, If a code sounds suspicious, DON'T USE IT! Only the suspicious codes can destroy your game. 5, the code creator only works sometimes. Also, the codes made by the code creator can mess up your game. Overall, Gameshark is a good buy, but remember my advice!

I bought my gameshark for my pokemon games. It allowed me to unlock the code needed to get Mew and Celibi!
There is a chance if you use the altering code for items, such as indefinate money or changing your antidotes to rare candies, at least in Pokemon Gold, it will mess up the coding a little. But it will not erase your game.
The only bad thing, if you can call it that, after I used the indefinate money code in Gold, items strangely began appearing. I suddenly had 4 of the 99 black apricorns in my pack. And so on. But I just sold them.
For 'catching them all' this is worth it. Not to mention you can get as many Master Balls as you want!
This is worth every penny spent. If you want to beat any game, not just pokemon, get the gameshark! ^_^

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice as hell, but be careful, January 24, 2001

This review is from: GameShark (Video Game)
This Gameshark Pro I bought at Funcoland with some money I got from trading some game in. I thought it was an awesome thing, because I had Pokémon Yellow at the time, and all these cheats I've heard of like catching Mew and all the Pokémon, Infinite money and so on. It works with almost any game. But use at your own risk. There is a great chance it can corrupt (delete) your information and may have to start a new game on Pokémon. Look at me, I needed to start my Yellow version over 15 times! :( It is great and all, but beware, if your game gets erased, don't go crying to your mom saying that your game was deleted and you worked so hard on it. If you are one who likes taking risks, buy it. But be careful.

5.0 out of 5 stars What is possible, January 25, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: GameShark (Video Game)
With the game shark it is very possible that you can beat the game easily but it sometimes might erase your game. The game shark come with about 2,000 pokemon codes and several other codes for other games. If you really don't want the game shark to erase your game then you should buy the memory card for game boy color right here on amazon.com. I hope this review was helpful to you and good luck with what ever game your using the game shark for because you never know it might erase your game.

Unlike the Game Genie, which comes with a code book, the Gameshark does not come with a book. In order to find out what games the Gameshark is preloaded for, you have to load up the Gameboy with the Gameshark and a game. If the game you have is not listed then you have to log onto the internet and go to their web site for the codes.

4.0 out of 5 stars This thing rocks!!!!, February 24, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: GameShark (Video Game)
I think that GameShark rocks for Game Boy. This attachment allows you to do all sorts of things on your game. The best part about it is the cheats that you can use. I couldn't wait until I was able to get my hands on one. The bad part about it is when you download or upgrade it with your computer. It sucks, it destroyed my GameShark. I had to exchange it for another one .... I think you should buy this, but if you do, be careful about downloading or upgrading your GameShark!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't use the software!!!!!, February 21, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: GameShark (Video Game)
My 14 year old son used this only a couple of times before using the software to download "skins" from the internet. Afterward, he couldn't get the main menu to come up. He called the manufacturer and they told him it was defective and to take it back to Toys R Us. We exchanged it for another one, he played once, and then downloaded a new skin. It quit working again. This time, my husband went onto their website and looked through their message boards. Nothing but complaints about using the software. Apparently, downloading things from the internet wipes out the entire chip from the GameShark. Back to Toys R Us we went, this time telling them that they might want to warn people who buy this. We have a GameShark for the N64, and it works fine. The GameShark for the GameBoy works fine, too, so long as you don't download anything. Although, I have read some of the other reviews and I see that other kids are having problems, too. Just beware, and don't be afraid of contacting InterAct if you have problems.
