"...this is a compelling, emotionally gut-wrenching book that intricately and powerfully weaves the majestic sport of baseball and human emotion in a way few books can." --Josh Dawsey, The Daily Gamecock
About the Author
Travis Haney has covered University of South Carolina sports for The Post and Courier
(Charleston, South Carolina) since April 2007. Prior to that, he traveled with the Atlanta Braves, covering more than four hundred Major League games for Morris News Service in two-plus seasons.
Haney, twenty-nine, has won numerous writing awards and had a 2004 feature story published in the Best American Sports Writing series. The 2003 graduate of the University of Tennessee lives in Columbia, South Carolina, and considers the 2010 College World Series the greatest event he has ever covered, thanks in large part to the Gamecocks' dramatic run to the national title.
