3.0 out of 5 stars You get what you paid for, June 3, 2006
This review is from: Solid Wood Cue (Sports)
Well, I can't say these are very good cues, they're light, the balance can be inconsistent between cues (I bought two, and one was weighted more heavily towards the rear), the tips aren't very adequate for applying spin, and pool shop owners laugh at you when you want the tips repaired.

Despite that, though, I used them pretty much every other day on my dorm's rec room pool table for about 3 months. I didn't NEED a well balanced cue to be able to have fun with friends, and I wanted a cue that if it got destroyed (highly likely with college students) I could replace it easily. I'd say that these cues are fairly useful for beginner-intermediate players who don't rely on a lot of spin.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst pool cue I have ever shot with..., June 25, 2005
This review is from: Solid Wood Cue (Sports)
I ordered two of these horrible cues for my father. They are not fun to play with AT ALL. They feel too light and flimsy, and it is nearly impossible to pull off a good shot with them. I guess you get what you pay for, because the best all around description for them is CHEAP. Do yourself a favor and buy quality cues. They make the game so much more enjoyable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just what is says it it...., August 3, 2006
By
I got what I was looking for; a gift for a young man who is just learning to play pool. Inexpensive, straight shaft and not too heavy. It was a good deal. As for folks who have not been able to apply chalk, I recommend using a piece of medium sandpaper and sanding off the protective coating on the tip of the cue. Seems to work fine now.
