5.0 out of 5 stars Best gamecube memory card for GCN or Wii
I bought this for backwards compatibility of GCN titles on my Wii. Works perfectly, and has double the capacity of the next card while costing about half as much. I have had perfect compatibility from it. Definitely the memory card to buy!

One of these should be more than sufficient for all your gamecube memory needs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes A Memory
With the Nintendo Gamecube fading into obscurity, many gamers are flocking to buy the Wii in droves. Although that is unfortunate for those looking for great games, they can always still find great accessories for the system. This memory card handles well, carrying 128MB of memory, which can hold over 60 different games in memory, which works well for those who want to...

This card is the best, it works on gamecube and the Wii. I got this card because I had like 5 memory cards (52 blocks each) for all my games. And now with this 128MB 35x memory card I have all my games (40 games) saved on ONE memory card. BUY IT NOW!!!

With the Nintendo Gamecube fading into obscurity, many gamers are flocking to buy the Wii in droves. Although that is unfortunate for those looking for great games, they can always still find great accessories for the system. This memory card handles well, carrying 128MB of memory, which can hold over 60 different games in memory, which works well for those who want to hold sports titles like Madden '07 and '06, or great classic titles like Super Mario Sunshine, and The Legend Of Zelda Twilight Princess (Gamecube edition). Although it isn't bad, it just doesn't work as well as the one Nintendo made. My Gamecube sometimes doesn't recognize this memory card. I really suggest you get one that Nintendo made instead.

PROS: Price, Storage, Nyko *is* a name brand. My Wii has no problem recognizing this card. I imagine that Gamecubes being older hardware may have issues with some aftermarket cards. Since the Wii is newer, I would guess that it's flash memory reader is newer and supports more memory devices.

CONS: I have not experienced a single problem with either of the 2 cards that I bought. I decided the price was right that I might as well get them now.

HUGE memory card 2048 blocks. Since gamecubes are on the decline since the Wii came on the scene, I needed a big memory card to last and store all the saved games i neeeded, like madden NFL. Great card for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hands down the best memory card for the GC, February 7, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Gamecube 128MB 35x Memory Card (Video Game)
I bought this card about two years ago, I prefer it better than Nintendo's, as it has way more room and the price was right. I have almost every GC title that was released in the US, and a good portion of my saves are on that one card, its like a mini hard drive! Trust me, its a all around great card, can't beat it.

Mine was dead straight out of the packaging. My 'Cube didn't even recognize this card when it was plugged in. I only bought this card so that I could play the Sims: Bustin Out. Ooops. Here is what you need to know:

First, I already own an 8mb memory card made by Nyko, and it has worked really well most of the time I've had it. There was only one occasion where it kept trying to tell me that the memory card was corrupted and needed to be formatted. But after pulgging and unplugging the darn thing a couple of times, it finally worked again without anymore malfunctions. I took this to mean that Nyko makes good memory cards until I read another review that mentioned the same problems.

Okay, okay now you might be impressed by the fact that this product has gotten four & 1/2 stars right? Wrong. There's only been 12 reviews or so for this product. That rating means nothing unless it's unanimous. My advice would be to go ahead and pony up the extra dough and get a genuine Nintendo 1019 memory card. You have a better chance of getting a decent card.

I purchased this memory card about a year ago, and dispite reports of it corrupting eaisly I had no problem with it, it easily held all my games and seemed to work fine. This is until yesterday, yesterday I went and tried to play metroid, and a message popped up saying the card was corrupted and needed to be re-formated it said the same thing with all my games. If you care about your game saves dont buy this product!
