5.0 out of 5 stars Very good implementation of Sudoku September 18, 2009
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I'm very surprised nobody has bothered to give this excellent game a review.

This is by far the best Sudoku game out there either on PC or console. It's extremely addictive not just because it's Sudoku (duh!) but also because the gameplay is so smooth.

Choose a difficulty level from 1 to 10 and the game will properly create a challenge according to your preference. I enjoy playing at level 10 and it can get very tough.

The game plays a very enjoyable tune in the background while you think. It can be paused on demand (the grid will be blocked and the clock stopped). You can set it in fullscreen mode or a window. You just need to use your mouse: left-click to set a number or right click to set a mark. The game will also allow you to print random games in PDF format so you can print them and play them when not in front of the computer.

The interface of the game is very pleasant to the eye. I found myself staring at the screen for 15 minutes in a row while playing in full mode and I barely blinked.

Gamehouse Sudoku has one tiny flaw. The game will warn you when you place duplicate numbers in a row, column or square. Not a big deal considering most players don't make that mistake but the developers could have have prevented that. Other than that, the game is top-notch.

Also, the game barely uses any resources. I played it on a netbook and didn't see any performance changes compared to my desktop PC.

And for the price of $7, it's a steal. What are you doing there sitting thinking about it? Buy this game right now. You won't regret a single cent spent on it.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I have searched for a Sudoku version that was supported by Windows 7. I found none. Then I happened upon this version which offered a free trial but did not indicate it was supported by Windows 7. It worked. I liked it so I bought it. I will update my review after I have some experience. Its time for others to indicate if Windows 7 will support their software. In most cases I suspect the answer is yes. But the irritation created by a no answer is inexcusable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective computer program June 18, 2011

The Gamehouse computer program is defective since it generates invalid games. The software does not allow dubbing in games, for example from newspaper Sudoku.

4.0 out of 5 stars Global scores no longer available September 27, 2011
Verified Purchase
I have enjoyed this game for years, but suddenly the global scores is no longer available. This was one of the best features, providing competition. I will still play it, but it's not as much of a challenge.
