Simple Old Games,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Games for Everybody (Kindle Edition)
This book has no less than 203 games that ostensibly are for Children, Adults and Special Days. All of the games are appropriate for children though some of the "adult" games require knowledge like spelling or states shapes or the like. These are the sorts of games that would be played in a nursery school or a church basement.
When I first looked through this book I was a bit dissapointed because I expected to find rules to old games. That's not what I found. Even Blind Man's Buff was changed to be more politically correct with less touching. I also thought at first that the author was trying to be PC or maybe it was aimed at a Christian audience. But as I read I could see that these games are wonderful day care games for any audience that is highly conscious of any sort of moral standards. Hindus, Muslims, Christians or whatever will find that these games work for them. If you are a Day Care owner or worker or you deal with very young children this book could be a life saver!!! However, if you are looking for anything historical, or sophisticated in ANY way shape or form... this book is NOT meant for you.

This book contains short, simple, and to the point instructions for games that can be played by children, adults and to mark special occasions. There are 58 games for children. Most are very easy to follow, such as guessing how many pedals are on a rose. The 58 include well-known games, such as Hide and Seek, Simon Says, and Musical Chairs, as well as new ones, such as The serpent's Tail and Shoe Hunt.
There are also 106 games that adults can play and enjoy an evening rather than sitting around and gossiping or drinking or watching TV. Again, there are games that are well-known, some of which can even be played by children, such as Geography, Telegram, and Who Am I? There are also newer games, such as Proverbs, What Time is It? Famous Numbers, Magic Answers, and What is My Next Door Neighbor? Thirty-nine of the games can be saved and used for special days. These include Jack Frost, Valentine Puzzle, April First, and Easter Egg. While readers may think that to play games is silly, they may be surprized that their guests will warm up to the idea and have fun and want to come again.

This book works to give you many ideas. If you find a game in there and it seems too elementary, than just change it up to suite your needs. It is, after all, free!
I am a teacher and have found it useful many times to fit my students needs. And by the way, they are adult students, and not once have they complained. It just makes boring work, a bit less boring.

Very basic descriptions and rules to various games,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Games for Everybody (Kindle Edition)
"Games for Everybody" is an accumulation of many games and their rules into one book. However, this Kindle form of the book currently only downloads about half of the book onto your Kindle, and that is what this review is based on. For the full book, you may wish to download the other Kindle form of this book or just buy the physical copy.
The first section, which makes up about half of this Kindle form (about 1/4 of the whole book) is on Children's Games. These games are mostly well known games such as Hide-and-Go-Seek and Blind Man's Bluff. If they are not well-known games, then they are very much like popular games OR very boring games that can barely be called games at all. In addition to this, the explanations are all very short, and they sometimes don't fully teach the reader how the game is played. Sometimes there are examples, and sometimes there are not. The second section of this Kindle book is only half of the original section from the physical book. It's the first half of Adult's Games. While some of these games seem like they might be fun for a casual adult party, most of the games are very childish, and I would never expect adults to agree to these games. Still, the reader can use some of these games for children if they can't find a suitable game in the children's section. Once again, the explanations are very short and not always clear. Overall, this books contains about 110 games, while the full book would contain about 205. Some of the games included could be very fun to play, but most of them seem to be rather boring. If you're in hard press to find some quick games good for kids, then this book MIGHT be a help to you, but otherwise, even thought it's (currently) free, just give this one a pass.

If you can't think of any way to occupy your child or family this book could be for you. There are no actual games to play but it does have some interesting description of games you might want to do. This wasn't all that helpful when I was trying to entertain my grandchildren.

I was disappointed as I thought this would be a book where I could actually interact, do puzzles etc. I did not realize it was an instruction book on many games. I have no doubt many people will find more than enough games they will like as it was expansive.

After downloading I was disappointed in the contents. Some families with children may find this more helpful than I did, but my two granddaughters (12 and 5) were not too enthusiastic either.
