5.0 out of 5 stars A thoroughly enjoyable read!!!!
The key to a good book is good book is a good story, strong and believable characters and in the case of romantic fiction the author must connnect with the reader. Pamela Yaye gives us all of these. Games of the Heart gives us a female character every man would love to have and a man that every man should be. It's man meets woman hidden agendas, emotional and relationship...

This review is from: Games of the Heart (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
The key to a good book is good book is a good story, strong and believable characters and in the case of romantic fiction the author must connnect with the reader. Pamela Yaye gives us all of these. Games of the Heart gives us a female character every man would love to have and a man that every man should be. It's man meets woman hidden agendas, emotional and relationship baggage and the attraction of the couple to each other that all of us that have been in love can identify with. I loved reading this book and then I got scared because they were getting on so well you knew something just had to go wrong. I found myself laughing my head off at the way the female lead felt about the clothes her man would wear (my wife is always getting at me to hit the shops!) The love scenes were realistically described as were the feelings of both the male and female characters. It is a rare thing for a sister to accurately portray a brother but Pamela Yaye has done just that. I haven't gone into the plot just buy the book and read for yourself and you won't be disappointed. As for me what can I say except that I have just purchased (via Amazon) another book by Pamela Yaye and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival.
To conlude, Games of the Heart I loved it!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Everyone Wins, August 9, 2009
This review is from: Games of the Heart (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Khari Grant is the next phenom. The next Kobe Bryant. The next Lebron James. Just a senior in high school, he's the real deal. Signing him would be a hug feat for Sage Collins and a guarantee at being the next executive manager at Sapphire Entertaining Agency. The only thing standing between her and her dream job is a brute of a man.

Marshall Grant has taken the role of father and protector seriously. He knows his son has great skills and potential to be one of the best at the game. However...it's college first, NBA second as far as he is concerned. He won't let anyone or anything get in the way of that. Offers of money, cars and homes don't faze him. What about a beautiful woman?

Pamela Yaye tackles an unlikely couple while giving us a charming plot, well-realized characters, passion and love. I was pleased. Fans of romance will enjoy "Games of the Heart."

4.0 out of 5 stars Use What You Got ( 3.5 stars), January 6, 2010
This review is from: Games of the Heart (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Celebrity manager Sage Collin has always been able to use her beauty and common sense to get ahead in life. She knew how to use what she had to get what she wanted. That is until she meets handsome, ex-military, single father Marshall Grant. Marshall is a no nonsense type of guy. He is firm in his beliefs and he believes that his son, high school basketball phenom, Khari Grant, is going to Harvard to study pre-med. Khari doesn't want to go to Harvard and Sage needs to sign him as a client to get the promotion she has been working towards. So now she has to use some of those skills that she has acquired in life. Somewhere between the lies and deceit, Sage realizes that she doesn't care as much about her career as she does about Marshall and Khari. They become like the family she never has. Now she has to prove to Marshall, on more than one occasion, that she cares more about him and Khari than anything else.

Games of the Heart is a good read by Pamela Yaye. Yaye does a good job with character development. Her writing also flows well, so there were no lagging moments. I was a little disappointed with the ending. I thought Games of the Heart could have been developed a little more, but overall the story was good.

The book revolves around human relationships, ordinary every day people that you would come across at the grocery store. Leverage what you have! That's the mantra. Nice book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice light read, January 17, 2011
This review is from: Games of the Heart (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoyed this story and found Sage's character hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time. Marshall was a sweetheart and Khari was just adorable. All in all an engaging story. My only gripe was with the endless descriptions of what each person was thinking especially when they would go like..'she was the perfect woman for him, so beatiful and special'.. etc, Which is fine in itself but the writer tended to repeat this every few pages and it got old really quick.
Having said that the issues surrounding their (brief) break-up rang true and were not as contrived as those I have read by other writers.
Definitely worth the ratings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Always a struggle..., June 16, 2010
This review is from: Games of the Heart (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
The one thing I like about Kimani Romance is that there is always a tug of war at the heart and then in a round about way the two realize that they love each other more than the sky is blue and some kind of way through all of the drama and craziness find a way to ride off into the sunset amongst a boatload of passion. Sound familiar?

Well, Games of the Heart does not fall far from the romantic tree, except the storyline of Californian, Sage Collins, faking like a charity worker to draft the southerner, Marshall Grant's, high school star basketball playing son takes conflict to the next level. I like the way the conflict mixed with sexual tensions made Sage and Marshall almost irresistible to each other. The heat level midway through the book is off the radar. I read some of those scenes twice (hot)!

If you are looking for a quickie to curl up with and keep you entertained for the weekend, this is your novel. Sage will drive you crazy with her deception and Marshall will make you love him.

Even though it worked, I took of one star for the unbelievable back and forth bickering towards the closing of Games of the Heart. Overall, I tip my hat to Pamela Yaye for a job well done, because, love it or hate it, she brought the drama!

4.0 out of 5 stars Love Bug, May 4, 2010
By
This review is from: Games of the Heart (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Pamela Yaye takes on the sports industry from the standpoint of the business world and a businesswoman who is determine to make a name for herself but not before love hits her and makes her reevaluate life.

Sage Collins is a junior agent at a exclusive sports agency who is determined to get her hands on the next big sports star to get the promotion and raise she feels she so rightfully deserves but how far will she go to get the deal. Sage has never been one to back down from a challenge but when she meets the father of her next big superstar, she finds herself putting her street smarts into practice to get close. Marshall Grant has been doing everything in his power to get it into his child's mind that his college education is important and not some draft to play sports while making sure any agent who approaches him is intimidated or shown the door being told that Khari Grant is not signing with anyone. When Sage finds herself, need deep in lies and in love with the father of her client who could make or break her, she finds herself having a deep moment of what is right and what is wrong. Khari & Sage hit it off making it even harder for her to do what it takes to sign the deal but unknowingly to Marshall and Sage love had overtaken everything but how much can love over come lies and deceit.

While the book was, a fast pace it seemed to slow back down in the middle but pick up again towards the end but nonetheless Pamela has always been an author who has known how to mix sports and romance stories together. While this book is not exactly what I, am use to from Mrs. Yaye it was a great read about a single father who would go the limits to ensure his son's education & future. I look forward to reading more from Mrs. Yate in the coming future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Games Of The Heart is a typical romance, but an interesting, good read., March 8, 2010
By
This review is from: Games of the Heart (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Young Vegas girl Sage is looking to advance in her firm and thinks she has found the perfect client that could get her there: a teenager that could potentially be the next Michael Jordan. In the process of trying to make Khari her first big client, she has to take on the teenager's six-foot, take-charge, ex-military father and manager, Marshall Grant. Sage is willing to go through leaps and bounds to make Khari the next pro basketball player. However, is she willing to drop her game of "Monopoly" to play "Life"? Or, will the love that develops between the Marshall and Sage result in "Trouble"?

Games Of The Heart is a typical romance, but an interesting, good read. Pamela Yaye engages her audience with her words and imagination. The story is somewhat realistic and the characters are well-developed. Though the ending is predictable, a lesson is learned after reading the novel: Anything worth keeping is worth fighting for. Sage and Marshall both realize that they have flaws and things to work on, but they can make one another feel like no other can. If married couples of today would consider this lesson prior to their wedding days, there would probably be less divorces in the world.
