Book Description

Do you need to entertain your children often and have difficulty figuring out engaging new activities for them to do for free, or for only a few dollars?

Do you hold children's parties and need exciting group games to play?

What about games that you can play indoors, outdoors, or both?

Games for Kids - 77 Exciting Indoor and Outdoor Games for Children Ages 5 and Up! gives you exactly what you are looking for! Whether you’re responsible for two or three little ones or an entire room full of children, this book can provide inexpensive games for any group, ages five and up! Both indoor and outdoor games are included, so you can entertain children year ‘round, despite the weather!

This book will help you “wow” the kids in your life with all the exciting games you will have for them. You don’t have to worry about buying separate (and sometimes expensive) board games, toys and props, only to have the kids get sick of them in a month. This book contains an array of older, classic games, as well as newer games you may have never heard of, to keep them busy!

Best of all, the materials for these games cost either a few dollars, or nothing at all! Ever heard of Sardines? This is similar to hide-and-seek, but with a twist, and requires nothing but ample space to run! One of the games is so stress-free to set up, you just need to look in your kitchen for these items: a bucket, a sponge and a glass!

These games are presented with very simple, easy-to-read instructions. This way, you can pick any game at random and have it setup within minutes!

The following information is listed for each game:
- Objective
- Number of players
- Suggested age to play
- Time required to complete each game
- What items are needed, if any
- Detailed (but simple) instructions and rules

To switch things up a bit, variations of some games have been included for increased fun and to keep children engaged even more!

Games for Kids - 77 Exciting Indoor and Outdoor Games for Children Ages 5 and Up! will allow you to entertain children for hours upon hours. Pick it up now, and let the fun begin!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great ideas for happy campers! June 23, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I work at a summer camp (yay Camp Lohikan!) and even though we've got a great schedule of organized activities, there are always a few who don't like to join in. So we're always looking for new and fun ways to keep all our kids happy and occupied. This book is packed with so many great ideas, for indoors and out. There are lots of old favorites, and many of them were completely new to me (I'll definitely be trying out "Mystery Guessing Game").

Each game is described well. The instructions are clear, and having the objectives, number of players, play time etc. is extremely useful for play supervisors.

The games in this book would work equally well for birthday parties, or even a bored kid at home on a rainy day. An excellent "survival book" for adults who want to keep kids happy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great collection of oldies and newbies! March 4, 2012

This book includes many games that brought back memories of games I used to play as a child (I forgot many of the rules!). There is a variety of games included for children of different ages. They will occupy the children anywhere from a few minutes to possibly over ten minutes. As a teacher, there are many games included that can be used as filler activities between subjects. I also work at a summer camp, where I will benefit from this collection of games. I am excited to try out some of the new ones I had never heard of before! I especially enjoyed the bonus benefit and little bit of history incorporated into most of the games and the consistency throughout the book. It makes it easy to find what you are looking for from game to game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Old-Fashioned Fun June 24, 2011
By Mrs_C
Format:Kindle Edition
I bought this book after my two grandchildren told me they'd never played or even heard of Horseshoes before. But while "Games for Kids" does indeed include detailed instructions on how to play Horseshoes (which I'd forgotten), this book contains dozens of games that are fast becoming new favorites - especially the appropriately-named "Our Grandma Doesn't Like Tea"!

Many of these are variations of games that I used to play as a child, and it's been a delight to introduce them to my grandchildren. They are enjoying them as much as I am... evidence that good old-fashioned fun never goes out of style. It's so rewarding to see them activating their imaginations.

We've only really played the indoor games, but there are plenty of outdoor ones too. The games are all explained clearly, and I especially like that no extra purchases are needed!

5.0 out of 5 stars We love this book! May 9, 2013

This book is a great collection of games that can be played on a rainy day, in the car, and with or without other people. They're just challenging enough for my 5 year old granddaughter, but still fun, and you can vary the complexity of some of them as a child gets older. Sure beats boredom!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for keeping kids occupied August 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Very complete and detailed but simple instructions. Highly recommended for parents and babysitters.
I would also recommend the following book that has more mind related games that don't require items like balls, chalk balloons etc. Kids Games (22 Free and Simple 'No Tech' Interactive Children and Teen Games for Traveling & Improving Your Child's Spelling and Math Skills)
