4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good resource, but not well written July 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I honestly downloaded this book out of curiosity. I saw the full title and thought, "That can't be right. Maybe the author is playing at being unable to spell." For the record, the same mistake is repeated in the book itself, and no, I don't think it was a tongue in cheek play on words. She spelled nothing "noting" and said it requires "little equipments".

If those were the only mistakes, I wouldn't bother to write a review. There are in fact numerous similar errors throughout. For instance, in the description of the game "duck, duck, goose" she omits the possessive apostrophe in player's. In "red rover" she writes that a player can choose any one rather than anyone. In "musical statues" she writes, "Anyone who moves in out and the last player standing is the winner." These are just three examples. Nearly every game has at least one, and sometimes several mistakes. They are not huge, and you can easily follow the directions for the games. So the book still functions as a nice list of games to play with children.

I would use this book if I had to care for many children and keep them entertained, such as at a daycare facility. But I can't really recommend it due to the poor writing. If the author fixed these minor problems, the book would be a strong 4 stars.

Edited 13 Jul 12: The author has made an admirable job of cleaning up the typos and spelling errors. She has also included a really cute new cover. The writing style is not of the highest calibre, but it is a lot better and certainly works in context. I think the four stars are deserved for the usefulness of the book.

There were no new games in here. Just your basic american games like tag and duck-duck-goose. I was not inspired.
