I purchased this book for my son who is going into the teaching profession. While the book has some interesting ideas and information, it is mainly a colletion of worksheets, which, as a former teacher myself, I detest. I should have researched the contents more closely. Games and strategies? More like xerox this page and eat a donut while the students work.

As a teacher of American History for over 15 years I have used this workbook mainly for the Stock Market Game. It is one of the best that I have seen. It uses the real prices before the crash and it culminates with the crash. I had them buying and selling for 10 days during our 1920s unit. It really brought home the concept of buying and selling stocks. I also liked the Wild West Game and the Railroad Game although I didn’t use them as constantly. I don’t consider this book a bunch of worksheets when used correctly,
