Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Can a giraffe fit in a phone booth? Does a sofa fit in a shopping cart? It all depends on how you size it up in this game of creative thinking and outrageous scenarios. Try to win a set of cards by fitting smaller things into bigger things. There's some juice in a pickle, in a supermarket, in a parking lot.

Product Description

We love games like In a Pickle that get the creative juices flowing. This is a great game to break out when you need to stretch your brain. See how outrageous you can get with the scenarios you create. At the same time, challenge yourself (and your opponents) to think outside the norm and picture scenes that might otherwise seem preposterous. The more you play, the more you will see that there?s more inside a word than you might expect! HOW TO PLAY: Can a giraffe fit in a phone booth? Does a sofa fit in a shopping cart? It all depends on how you size it up in this game of creative thinking and outrageous scenarios. Try to win a set of cards by fitting smaller things into bigger things - There's some juice in a pickle, in a supermarket, in a parking lot. Play the fourth word card to claim the set, unless one of your opponents can trump with a larger word. The player with the most sets at the end is the BIG winner!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun for all ages! June 23, 2006
Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My family and I love to play board & card games on a weekly basis. I am always on the lookout for new games to play. While at Barnes & Noble I found this game for 10 bucks and it looked fun and educational. What I found was that this was the most fun card game I had played since Phase 10! Anyone from children to adults can play & suceed at this game. You start by picking 5 cards per person. These cards have nouns on them such as "car, boat, woman, spider, church, student, toy, universe" and then you play 4 cards in the middle of all the players. You must lay a card on one of the 4 main cards. The card you play has to either fit in or on the object card in the middle.

Example: the 4 cards in the middle are "bus, baby, house, car"

and I have "nursery, finger, spiderweb, thief, black hole" in my hand. I play "nursery" on top of "baby". The baby goes into the nursery. The next card you play...the nursery would have to fit on or in that card (church, house, etc, the nursery is in the church) and you go until no one can play a bigger card & the person who played the biggest & last card wins the hand.

For kids, this will teach them reading, definitions, different meanings of the same word, and you have to validate why you played the card to the other players & they vote on whether you can play that card or not.

I had so much fun with this game & you can't help but laugh when other players try and validate a completely idiotic card!

I recommend this game for anyone 8 or older. I will definitely keep this game on our shelf for a long time!

4.0 out of 5 stars maximizing the educational value April 16, 2006
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Not only does this game help kids with spatial awareness, comparison and proportion, but each playing card contains one word---a great boon to young spellers. Lots of giggles as kids present arguments about how one object can fit inside another one. Encourages creative thinking!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and Creative Game March 28, 2005
Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought 2 of these card games-one for school and one for my children at home. It is a big hit everywhere. You have to be creative and get people to "buy" your explanation. You have to fit things inside of other things. For example, if you want to say that a river is in your mouth then you can explain that when you are drowning in that river the river is definately in your mouth. You have to be funny and imaginative and my kids love it.

2.0 out of 5 stars an interesting concept that is ultimately bogged down by self...
The concept of the game is easy enough, players attempt to place cards in order of either greater or smaller sizes depending on a particular stack. Read more
