My family and I love to play board & card games on a weekly basis. I am always on the lookout for new games to play. While at Barnes & Noble I found this game for 10 bucks and it looked fun and educational. What I found was that this was the most fun card game I had played since Phase 10! Anyone from children to adults can play & suceed at this game. You start by picking 5 cards per person. These cards have nouns on them such as "car, boat, woman, spider, church, student, toy, universe" and then you play 4 cards in the middle of all the players. You must lay a card on one of the 4 main cards. The card you play has to either fit in or on the object card in the middle.
Example: the 4 cards in the middle are "bus, baby, house, car" and I have "nursery, finger, spiderweb, thief, black hole" in my hand. I play "nursery" on top of "baby". The baby goes into the nursery. The next card you play...the nursery would have to fit on or in that card (church, house, etc, the nursery is in the church) and you go until no one can play a bigger card & the person who played the biggest & last card wins the hand. For kids, this will teach them reading, definitions, different meanings of the same word, and you have to validate why you played the card to the other players & they vote on whether you can play that card or not. I had so much fun with this game & you can't help but laugh when other players try and validate a completely idiotic card! I recommend this game for anyone 8 or older. I will definitely keep this game on our shelf for a long time!

Not only does this game help kids with spatial awareness, comparison and proportion, but each playing card contains one word---a great boon to young spellers. Lots of giggles as kids present arguments about how one object can fit inside another one. Encourages creative thinking!

I bought 2 of these card games-one for school and one for my children at home. It is a big hit everywhere. You have to be creative and get people to "buy" your explanation. You have to fit things inside of other things. For example, if you want to say that a river is in your mouth then you can explain that when you are drowning in that river the river is definately in your mouth. You have to be funny and imaginative and my kids love it.

Excellent Game For All, Especially Campers,

While camping in PA this past summer I came across this game in Target. I was looking for a game that seemed simple to play and did not have alot of pieces, and this was it. Its easy, the row is started with one noun card and you just go bigger. My cousins and I (ages 21-25) played this game all the time. But any age can play this game and have fun its that easy. And funny when you try to get people to give a thumbs up for your combination. Its so simple after many plays we started making up our own lingo and names for certain moves in the game. Bottom line if your looking for a simple, funny, pass the time game this is it! Enjoy.

We played this game at our monthly game night (people mostly in their late 20s to mid 30s). Everyone agreed that it was a lot of fun. However, if you don't like games where the answer is either right or wrong, this game is not for you.

Someone I've known for centuries, a guru of game, recommended this to me. I've only played it a few times, but we all loved it! The scenarios get so funny that I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. Economically sound too, when you think of how expensive everything fun is these days...this is probably more fun and oh-so-inexpensive. I can't believe you haven't bought this yet. If you don't have any friends, pay someone to play this game with you.

I bought this game as something to play while waiting in the airport. It turned out to be a big hit with my niece and nephews when I got there. Even though the game is for ages 10 and up, it can easily accomodate younger players. When the four of us played, all the kids were under 10. One child was already reading and another was learning. We gave the role of judge for the stories to the youngest child. So everyone got involved. It helps with word recognition and creative thinking. I'm a big fan of Gamewright now and own several of their games. My nieces and nephews have loved them all.

We are board and card game junkies. This game is one of the best we've purchased in a long time. Those rating it 1 star must be playing it wrong or something. I cannot imagine why anyone would find this game boring. Our kids are 10 & 7 and we've had so much fun with this game. We're constantly laughing to the point where we're cracking up and having to pause the game while everyone composes themselves. This game is great for the imagination and thinking outside the box. I've even used it for creative writing, having the kids create stories with some of the scenarios that pop up during game play. For example: we ended up with an alien inside a straight-jacking inside a trunk inside a tractor trailer. That was pretty funny but better still was everyone discussing how that came to be. The game has led to fun debates. Can a giraffe fit in a stocking? Well, sure if it is a toy giraffe! Could a drawer be in a haystack? Listening to everyone justify why their scenario would work is one of the best and funniest parts of the game. We haven't laughed so much during a game in a long time. It has become a new family favorite.

We liked In A Pickle as the explanations for the choices made in the game kept us laughing. I think it truly makes kids think outside the box.

You really have to think with this game at times. Our 8 year old niece loved this gift for her birthday, her mom says they play it a lot and always have fun. She tells me that sometimes it is confusing and you have to really think to make words fit in other words. They still have fun playing it though. Great way to expand a child's vocabulary!
