I have loved playing this game in parties. If you have friends who are reasonably willing to make jokes with each other and to speak on short notice then this is a great game. You don't have to know who the characters are as there is a brief description at the bottom of each card but you can also ask someone. I have never laughed as hard as when I had to defend JFK vs. Nelson Mandela at rapping. My opponent pointed out that Mandela spent all of those years in prison giving him the edge over a privileged white guy and I lost the battle. Yet there are so many hilarious combinations that the game never gets old. Give it a try. I have the original version of the game but this version is more compact. I got it for some friends of mine and I love both versions.

Well worth the 5 dollar I paid. and the timer is just right to get your point across. If I had to pay over 10 bucks skip it.

This game has been on my list since my introduction to it last year, though I'm still on the fence whether I'll order it sooner or later. I am pretty sure that it was this game that got the cops called on last year's Thanksgiving party. To be quite fair, everyone was at least tipsy. We abandoned the timer pretty early on, and starting from the judge, built up the courtroom theme a little more, with the barristers calling on witnesses to testify in what became perfect cacophony with a sort of Phoenix Wright feel. The barristers took turns until the judge decided to call the final round. There was shouting and much reference to wikipedia on people's phones. I was not previously aware that a card game could generate a noise complaint.
