5.0 out of 5 stars Cute & Fun!
I bought this game to play with my nephews when they visit in the summer, my oldest nephew (11) loves it and so do I! This is a fun game that teaches math skills. It's a dice game so easy to set up and play, with games generally lasting 10-15 minutes and then he wants to play again and again. It's not boring for adults either.

2.0 out of 5 stars Game of chance for kids
The math skills a child might get from this isnt great. You dont end up counting very high. Game consists only of rolling the dice, very basic addition, and betting that you dont get all squirrels with your rolls - you gamble as to either stopping rolling and keeping your points, before you roll all squirrels which could result in you losing all the accumulated points...

You roll 5 dice and try to add up your acorns rolled, you keep rolling until either all 5 dice have become cars (you lose all points earned) or all dice become squirrels, then you go into "Go Nuts" round! You roll all 5 dice as fast as you can while your opponent(s) roll a "dog" dice too until they roll the dog (harder than it sounds), they yell "woof woof" and your "Go Nuts" round is over but you get to keep all your points. The person to reach 50 points (acorns) first wins! For longer games, just up the points!

Another winner from Gamewright!

My children are always wanting to play games. I love games, but set up and clean up of a million pieces are a pain. My 2 children are 5 years apart so that apsect makes games difficult too. This game was fun for both and easy enough for my 6 year old to play. We are always looking for simple games to take to the beach with us. This will be easy to pack too. I am also a kindergarten teacher who will use this game for math and indoor recess fun. I also purchased Go Bananas! This was a hit too. I recommend both!

This game is fast paced and exciting! It requires everyones attention at all times. Fun for adults and children (8-9 years old) who would like a change of pace from digital, computer, or t.v. games.

Game consists only of rolling the dice, very basic addition, and betting that you dont get all squirrels with your rolls - you gamble as to either stopping rolling and keeping your points, before you roll all squirrels which could result in you losing all the accumulated points garnered so far, in the 'go nuts' round where you might get only one nut, or point when someone else rolls a dog. Its ok. not played often but the dice are cute, come with a tiny little scoring pad to keep track of points. wouldnt recommend for a child over 5.

Okay, this definitely deserves the awards it has won, however, it could be improved with ONE slight modification... if Gamewright would just include a travel case or pouch like ThinkFun does with many of its puzzle type games... if it had a travel case/box would be perfection! The hanging card type box it comes in isn't that durable, but it is small enough to stick in your purse. We found this to be great fun, even waiting at the doctor's office. It kept my 6 yr old son entertained for quite a while; and then if you set a certain number of rounds and tie, there is always the challenge of the "tie breaker." Great for young and old. Again, this one is great even for younger kids, our 4 year old loves the game. We play a little slower for the little guys, but I could see how it could be frenzied and hillarious with a group of older kids or adults. Fun for all... and really all you need is a little case to stick the dice in (and would be great on trips because you could roll into the case rather than worry about losing dice on a car seat or floor) your small pencil and score pad and you're set. GREAT Fun. Love it! this would make a great stocking stuffer for nearly anyone too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Family Game, January 13, 2011

we got this game for Christmas and so far it has become a family favorite. it is quick to get out and start playing, it is a relatively quick game to play, and it is simple enough for our even youngest kids. we have 9 year old twins, a 7 year old, and a 6 year old and everyone has fun because everyone has as much chance to win as anyone else. with some of our other games our 6 and 7 year olds get frustrated because they can not always keep up with their older brother's strategies. since this game is all about chance and pressing your luck it really levels the playing field. The game is designed for 4 players, but we have been able to play with as high as 6 by taking turns with the dice. overall, this is a simple, but fun game that is perfect for those time when you want to play something but don't have time for a longer game.

I own tons and tons of Gamewright games. This one is just pretty dull. The first Gamewright game I haven't adored.

Picked as part of the Games 100--could it even have been party game of the year?--Go Nuts is a straightforward push-your-luck with nice custom dice. Fun! My whole family is pretty keen on this game.

We purchased this for our 10 year old. He is too old for the game and quickly grew bored of it. I think if you have a family with some younger children (5-7) and some older, the game is something they all can play and that would make it more attractive.
