Worst air rifle I have ever owned. Inaccurate and gets worse every time you fire it. Terrible trigger must have a pull of about 15 pounds I'm not kidding. You fire it and it jumps worse than a centerfire rifle because it takes a hydraulic hand to pull the trigger, you can keep a high powered rifle steady but not this thing. I get 3/4" groups with my .30-06 at 100 yards,...

This gun has now been in my hands for a couple of weeks. In that time, I have shot well over 200 rounds of Beeman pointed pellets. After getting the scope zeroed in, at 25 yards, was able to achieve a very tight group. Instead of holes, I was cutting paper, as the grouping was that tight. The scope was to have been bored sighted, but don't think this was the case as it was not even close when the gun was first shoot. Be ready to spend some time to zero in. Once done, it seems to hold the settings.

The scope does provided a bright picture, but it could be a bit sharper when it comes to being focused.

After zeroing in the scope, I wanted to check out the drop of the pellet at longer ranges. Placed a cup out near the 50-yard line, thinking if I fire at it, I should be able to see some dust before the cup that would give a good idea of pellet drop. With the first shot, the cup jumped. Thought OK, this must have been one of those lucky things. Taking a second shot, the cup again jumped. So zeroing the scope at the short range I did, 25 yards, I was still able to hit a target at near 50 yards.

The tiger is a bit stiff, but you are not paying for a high-end target rifle here. The first few shots were rather loud. After several shots had been taken, the sound was a bit softer. The loudness may have been the results of oil left over from the manufacturing process, as there was smoke only for the first few shots.

Cocking the rifle does not take much effort and the pellet loads very well with the skirt being flush with the end of the barrel. Finding a few pellets that had been fired allowed me to see the rifling marks. These were good and were very uniformed around the entire pellet.

There are just a couple of minor things that could use improvements. The sharpness of the scope. Again, not bad, but could be better. And the trigger pull could be a bit lighter. Even with the adjustment screw, it is still a bit stiff. But my target rifle could have spoiled me here.

Over all, this is a fine, adult fitting, pellet rifle for the price.

recently became the owner of the hunter sport. I am very satisfied with this rifle. very accurate and powerful. would recomend this rifle to all friends, just make sure you have a wide open space when shooting because this shoots right through a fence no problem ( my brother has a nice ding in his car about 50 yards behind the fence... . .a very effective varmit killing machine.

I bought this gun as I have varmits in my garden and I wanted to elimate them as do not have a fence around it...WOW as this is a Powerful gun that will do the job ...I live in a close knit community and was brought up on the farm and know not to shoot towards a house or people but wanted the sound to be less than a 22 rife so my neighbors would not be alarmed...this rife is wery accurate after I zeroid it in ...very effective weapon against varmits...this gun is not a toy...

5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate Air Rifle, August 8, 2009
This review is from: Gamo Hunter Sport Air Rifle (Sports)
This air rifle is a good value for a high powered pellet rifle. Expect a half inch group bench rest at fifty feet. Good scope for the price. GAMO tech. support very fast regarding e-mail question. A variety of ammunition choices make this a good hunter as well as an inexpensive plinker.

I was surprised what I saw when I opened the box for the first time once I received it! I found a beautiful medium to dark stained wooden stock on this Gamo Rifle. The pics on the website that I bought it from showed a much lighter stain then what I got. I was thrilled as I like the much darker stained stock as it really complimented this rifle. The scope is a nice quality scope for an air rifle and it shows to have adequate consistent grouping on the targets that I shot at as well. Rifle shoots 1000 fps with lead pellets or 1200 fps shooting alloy pellets. Shooting the lead pellets are just as accurate but way cheaper. I would highly recommend anyone to purchase this air gun if in the market for one. Also, forgot to mention that this Gamo rifle comes with a 3X9X32mm variable scope instead of the standard fixed 4X32mm most Gamo guns come with. I give this one 5 stars ***** as Gamo really hit one out of the ballpark when creating this rifle/scope combo....Thanks Gamo!

I get 3/4" groups with my .30-06 at 100 yards, this hunk of junk you won't group less than 12" at 50 feet it's a joke. I wish I knew the accuracy was this bad before I bought it. Fit and finish is below average and for what you pay it should be better. Don't waste your money buy a Benjamin 392 it's accurate and better quality you'll be a lot happier.

This is the best seller I have ever bought from!
Gun arrived in two days. I give him 5 plus stars.
Thank you so much. The gun shoots great and the scope is
perfect with an anti recoil mount. Can shoot a bottle cap
off a water bottle at 50 yds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate, powerful and nicely built., November 6, 2010

Very accurate. I'm able to get consistent groups of under 3/4" at 25 yards. Out of the box, the trigger pull was extremely long and heavy. Although the trigger adjustment allows you to improve this considerably. (Note long and heavy triggers are common to all break barrel air guns).
It is well balanced and nicely built. The finish is just OK - good for field use.
It is powerful. Pellets will easily pass through multiple beer cans at 25 yards without knocking them over, and will quickly and humanely put down squirrels with one well placed shot.
The included scope is OK. While adequate, but I may actually replace the scope with one that gathers more light and has an AO adjustment.

1.0 out of 5 stars Gun OK, Scope mount not OK, October 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gamo Hunter Sport Air Rifle (Sports)
After hours of reading reviews and researching, I picked this air gun. I read reviews about the quality. I thought I would take my chances and get lucky with a good product. Sadly I was wrong. The box arrived in bad shape with very poor packaging and appeared to have been already opened; the plastic bag around the gun was ripped - probably opened too. The gun itself was very nice; wood stock was fine and no dings. The scope optics seemed okay. But the scope mounting bracket did not fit right, and after showing it to my local gun expert, we learned that the metal bracket side piece was manufactured and drilled in such a way that made the scope lean slightly to one side when mounted. You cant easily correct for this with scope adjustments. I compared this to another friend who bought the Gamo Whisper and his scope mount was a completely different style. I could have spent more money for scope rings that would actually fit the rail, but that's another $50 or $100. I chose to just return this -- it wasnt worth the hassle trying to fix something that should have been properly made in the first place. I give it a 1/5 because the gun is completely useless without the scope (no iron sights) and the scope hardware is junk. Save yourself the hassle and get something else. Or be prepared to get new mounting hardware.
