5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, informative short biographies, October 15, 2007
I purchased the Gandhi DK biography and was really surpised. DK is well known for their complex layouts with numerous pictures, drawings, and outtakes. They've done an excellent job with this biography providing frames that discuss historical and religious aspects, such as Hinduism, that are critical to Gandhi's life, but would deviate from the story being told if they were integrated into it.

The writing is easy for a late elementary reader, but very informative with numerous details of Gandhi's life that I didn't expect in such a short volume. I, however, still prefer to read it with my children as there are many historical and geographical references that can be expanded upon.

I feared that the paperback book would fall apart easily, especially with the thick, glossy pages, but it has been remarkably strong.
