This is a very brief and easy read, so I didn't expect much from this one to begin with. I remain split on the virtues and the flaws of the book: it does a great job of revealing Gandhi as a person and putting his ideas and his attitudes in perspective, but it seems scant in other biographical information. The writing is a little dry and simple, and as a result none of the turbulence of Gandhi's life is captured: every event seems to be pounded out in the same tone and language, so that, in retrospect, I found it difficult to sum up Gandhi's accomplishments and his failings.
Coolidge does a fine job of portraying Gandhi the man, but I would look elsewhere for other biographical info. Don't make this your only source.
