After a few weaker albums Death Row comes back much better!, May 17, 1999
This review is from: Gang Related: The Soundtrack (Audio CD)
In fact I'd give it a 4.5 rating if I could. Damn, this album has so many GREAT songs on it and only few that are weak (and they are REALLY weak). This album is ten times better than Gridloc'd and it sounds much more like the good old Death Row we all love and miss. It's got many hardcore songs and also a few that're a bit smoother, with an RnB feel to them. Some of the best rappers in the industry are on that album : 2Pac (whose all 4 songs are just amazing, and without a doubt the highlights of the albu,!), Ice Cube, Kurupt, Daz, Mack 10, Snoop Dogg, WC, Nate Dogg, J-Flexx, OFTB and many more. Out of 24 songs there're maybe 4 or 5 songs that I don't like. The rest is just perfect. Songs like 2Pac's "Life's so hard" and Daz's "What's yo fantasy" really take you back to Death Row's greatest days when all the artists were still there, Suge wasn't in jail and DEATH ROW was the top label in the rap industry. This is an important album, because it's one of the last quality albums to come out Death Row, before everything totally fell appart for many reasons.

4.5 star double disc soundtrack, November 11, 2004
This review is from: Gang Related: The Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Death Row was still on top of the rap game for the past 5 years before this release and they continued with this double disc 24 song soundtrack. Features most of the Death Row roster at the time, the Outlawz and some others as well (plus a few R&B songs - which are actually pretty good). The production is great on here and it is a must have for gangsta rap mid 90's west coast fans. The movie is pretty good as well.
