Incredible 3 CD set. Fantastic., May 9, 1999
This review is from: Ganga: Music of the Ganges (Audio CD)
This well designed set is a must have for lovers of Sacred (and folk-type secular (no Pop)) Indian (sub-continent) Music. Well planned and executed, the set has extensive notes in French and English and many color pictures. (No notes in Hindi or Sanskrit except for set decoration.) Perfect for lovers of chant and ethnomusicologists alike. The samples include music from the Himalayas to Calcutta. I can't say enough good things about this set.

Take the virtual trip, November 22, 2000
This review is from: Ganga: Music of the Ganges (Audio CD)
I spent six months traveling through India in 1997-98 and have longed to go back ever since. One of the most moving parts of my journey took place in Kashi/Benares/Varanasi, the most sacred city in India, long the home of the sages (from Hindu, to Buddhist, and beyond).
This CD is like a return to India, without the annoyances of actually hurling one's body through all that time and space.
Highly recommended. It will take you on a magic carpet ride down the river...
