This review is from: Gangs: An Individual and Group Perspective (Paperback)
Professor Tobin's book, Gangs An Individual and Group Perspective, has been very helpful to me in my work as a teacher of inmates, many of whom are gang affiliated.
What makes this book even more special to me is that I knew Kim Tobin when she was in grade school. She was a friend's little sister. Now over thirty years later she has a PhD in criminal justice and is a Dean at WSU among other accomplishments. The caring person that I knew then comes through in her book. Knowing her family gives me an insight to her perspective on the subject which is academically very well covered with outstanding footnoting and references cited. It is a must read for anyone working with gang members.

I really enjoyed this book. I had it for my Gangs class. I am going for my Bachelor's in Criminal Justice. It's easy reading and educational.
